Proposal: 2025 off season HC search - candidates

If the quote about him not wanting to go to a team with "no path to victory" than he's the biggest loser coach.

So the hot shot college coach doesn't want to coach an NHL team that is in a rebuild or maybe not a rebuild but he doesn't like the roster? Who does this entitled brat think he is? There's 32 of those jobs in the world. If you are lucky enough to have them call on you, you should consider it. Not write it off automatically.

Let me get this straight... High scoring, junior rookies need to work hard and earn a roster spot on their drafted team. It's not just given to them. See Korchinski, Nazar and Lev. But it's different for a rookie coach? Carle thinks he can just pick his spot and doesn't have to show he belongs in the NHL?

I wouldn't hire this clown if he wanted to coach for free. Although he wouldn't because our roster is probably not be good enough for him.
He has his dream job at Denver already. One that he has for the next 30 years if he so pleases. Why would he leave for an NHL job that isn’t interesting to him?

The way I read it the quote is implying quite the opposite- he'd rather go to a rebuilding team that has some championship pieces than to a currently competitive team that isn't on a path to true Cup contention.

And why on earth should a coach who will have all the interest in the world from the league not be choosy about where he lands?

he has a great situation and by all accounts he is happy. I feel like what he is saying is not that he would not come to the blackhawks. I think its more about the teams that are trying to do what the Blackhawk's used to IE retool. OTT redwings Sabres bruins islanders penguins blues preds flames vancouver those teams are kind of in pergtory. outside of some lottery luck those teams dont look like teams that can win without taking a step back first. IE the combo of who they have signed. what prospects they have coming up and the assets to try and improve.

I remember some folks were shocked Jay Woodcroft wasn't hired last offseason. Even when he was fired the Oilers had good metrics, just a bad start. There's some experienced coaches that aren't the guys who coached 4 teams already

So he doesn’t want his first stint to be a n unstable franchise like Arizona who cares?

This is a career and a job. Taking a bad job can hurt your career. Then you work 10-15 to get a chance at another shot. Don’t be emotional about it.

Utah?

What is the absolute worst coaching job he could take? Buffalo? San Jose? Chicago? Pittsburgh? Phili? Boston?

Go there, turn that franchise into a playoff team/winner and prove everyone that you are a great coach.

The whole attitude of not going to certain teams because you don't like their future is a losers mentality. What makes it worse is, he hasn't coached 1 NHL game and doesn't have the NHL credentials to demand something like that. You would think he is Montgomery or Cooper.

I hope he stays in the NCAA for his whole career.

None of my points got answered...

Carle and his entitlement can stay in the NCAA.

He is in good place right now and he is not in a hurry to make a change for the sake of making a change. Think it like this you are in a job that you love, make good money and your bosses want to keep you!! Why would you just take any job for the sake of just making a change!? I bet you would also think hard what kind of opportunity would be better for your career and be worth it to you!

He is not a prospect that cant choose which team they play. Well not all true as college players can wait it out and for team they want like Fox!? Sure you lose some money at first but if you believe in yourself you make a lot later!!

Buffalo is always awful. Pittsburgh, Philly, Boston, and Nashville all have a long ways to go to be competitive again. At least the Hawks, and I'll throw the Sharks in with us, can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Might still be too far to get to over the next season or two, but at least you're on the right path out of the tunnel.
