Listened to Friedman's 32 thoughts that came out today on what he expects from every team.

For Dallas:
- He thinks they should go all out (and says the general consensus from everyone he's talked to is that they'd be surprised if we didn't make more moves to maximize the cap space opportunity we have)

- Mentions how they'd definitely be interested in Rantanen if Carolina makes him available. Perhaps retained even more, which would put him at like $2.5m. Thinks they should "load up".👀

- Definitely still looking for another RD, as we know

- Mentioned we might be waiting to see what the Islanders do with Brock Nelson

- Definitely seems confident that Miro is out for at least the regular season

He mentioned we have the assets to get Rantanen/another scoring forward and a dman but I just don't see it.

Friedman seems incredibly optimistic to me. If Stankoven, Bourque and Bischel are truely off the table then what do we trade?

Is Grzelcyk still good ? I remember his name often beeing praised with the Bruins ? He still got game left ?

Pens are awful defensively so hard to judge if anyone on that team is actually any good defensively in general over there. Also lol he has 30 points already which is a career high with 1 goal and 29 assists.

If a roster player gets moved (as part of a deal for another rental top 6 forward), I could see it being Dadonov

Agreed, I have no clue where these assets are coming from that he's referring to
I think the problem with how prospects are viewed around here, is 50% draft ranking, 40% hype and 10% result.
We have guys outside of the big 3, that have value.

Dadonov, Bourque, and a 1st for Rantanen. Pretty low ball offer but hey, why not lol

I wouldn't do that for an unsigned Rantanen, and I don't want to sign Rantanen either so take out Bourque, add a prospect or another high pick and I'd be good with it

Another thing about Rantanen if Carolina moves him - no shot they trade him to an Eastern team without a severe overpayment coming their way

Every single Western playoff team will be in on him. Could definitely see him end up in Vegas because why not

Sign me up for Carlo, I'd happily move out a future first and then some for him

I think we should expect Nill is gonna do his best to get the equivalent of a 3.5/4.5 tweener dman by Friday. I have a sneaking suspicion Miro will probably not be ready for game 1 of the playoffs and Nill knows this is likely, so he is gonna do his best to bolster the blueline. Then again maybe the Stars will Vegas the shit out of it, and keep Miro out until game 1 and trade for a quality blueliner anyway.

The only issue I see is it seems like the Stars plan on getting Seguin back for the regular season.

I just don't see a scenario where Nill goes all in. Seguin will be our deadline addition up front. Depth dman is only what he will target imo. Maybe a 4th line physical forward with size

I don't think they plan for Seguin at all before even the 2nd round. Heiskanen they're bringing back as soon as its safe but Seggy ? No i don't think we'll see him in the regular season. Injury was way too serious for that and we absolutely do not need to rush him . We're fine on forward.

Robertson-Hintz-Rantanen
Marchment-Duchene-Seguin
Benn-Johnston-Granlund
Steel-Back-Bourque/Stankoven

That is one stacked lineup.
