Malagahawks
We tanked hard and got Bedard!! Happy Days!!
Methinks he is not a trade candidate but he won't be playing and pretty much has accepted his fate:
Look at the trade yesterday that Tampa made. That kind of return. Add contracts to make the money workLeafs might be into a Murphy/Donato package.
Assuming Murphy on the block?
Would Chicago take contracts backs?
What would the ask be - for the above.
I would prefer Donato straight up for Halliday as I see him more as a high 2nd/(very) low 1st value (I could get talked into including a 3rd/4th to get it done if it is down to that and nothing better). If Ottawa won't bite on Halliday, I would prefer their '26 1st even adding 2nd(s) to Donato to get there. Are you suggesting offering Donato and a 2nd round pick for Halladay?
I think you have to take back Domi (which I would be ok with) and Timmins to have any chance of the money working (I guess outside of a 3rd team to eat cap). Maybe something like Murphy + Donato for Domi + Timmins + Minten + '26 1st (with some lesser picks mixed in). I think Domi has been better of late, but pretty disappointing so I could see them wanting/willing to move him.Leafs might be into a Murphy/Donato package.

As is usually the case, pretty much everyone being mentioned as moveable at the deadline is being seen as a potential pick up by Leafs fans and the Canadian press. From the top guy to the depth pieces, the Leafs fans want em all.Leafs might be into a Murphy/Donato package.

More trades
He's had a bad season.Brisson traded
Vegas continues to not give a f*** about prospects
I will say that with TB and FLA being very active it raises the stakes for thr other contender. A team like TOR, EDM, VEG, or DAL really needs to make noise while they've got the horses. That's a lot of motivated buyers with a pretty small target pool with a bunch of teams still in striking distance of the P/Os.I wonder if the Donato trade goes down today, or if it'll be down to the wire
Kyle can drag it out as long as he needs until teams get more desperate
TOR doesn't have a 2025 first, probably not willing to part with 2026. (could trade Cowan or Minten)I will say that with TB and FLA being very active it raises the stakes for thr other contender. That means the returns will potentially be higher than historical norms. Heck, Bjorkstand and Gourde got 2 1sts and a 2nd.
We would probably be adding the 2nd (not ours) to Donato to get Miroshnichenko who was a 1st rounder (#20OA) just turned 21, has 39 NHL games over the last couple season and is 30pts in 34 AHL games this year. I would value Lapierre slightly less than Miroshichenko as he is 2 years older and his ceiling is probably more defined. I also like Protas brother and Parascak as forward targets in the Caps system. Really would be happy id can deal Donato to them and end up with one of these 4.I think one super nice fit for Donato is Washington.
They have one spot on their roster they could really upgrade (3rd line wing) and they should go after it this year because everything is in place.
They have the space, also some prospects although I'm not gonna pretend I know much about them.
Lapierre or Miroshnichenko + 2nd for Donato?
I kind wish they had some fast compete prospects besides Leonard because all their guys are either kind of perimeter or not so fast skaters.

Parascak was #17 in the last draft, Protas is at 102 pts in the OHL and still 18, Lapierre I agree is resembling Reichel at this point.I don't think those prospects have that kind of value.
Ok maybe Miroshnichenko is a reach, but older prospects who haven't quite yet made the league/are showing some questions marks/project less than top 6ers, I think those can ideal players coming back.
Maybe Ostaphcuk from Ottawa, or Grebenkin from the Leafs?
I agree guys like Minten/Cowan/Lambert are beyond a Donato acquisition level, but for example Lapierre would be like trading Reichel + for Donato.
Wouldn't you do that? I would for sure, especially if I'm contending.
Edstrom went to San Jose and then was sent to Nashville.Ooo can Vegas do Edstrom for Donato next?
