The Oilers need a goalie, not many clear realistic, affordable upgrades are out there. I believe that Bowman needs to try and get creative because of this. The Bruins have their goalie of now and of the future in Swayman. I believe the Bruins are their best option to try and find a guy. I have 2 different options...

1) Michael DiPietro - he's never been given a chance in the NHL, but he puts up great numbers in the AHL, and deserves a shot. He'd be a big wildcard, but who knows, it's worth a shot, imo.

to EDMONTON

Michael DiPietro

to BOSTON

B. Akey
O. Rodrigue
2nd Round Pick
3rd Round Pick

I know this is an overpay, but why else would Boston help Edmonton out?

2) Korpisalo

He's been a starter before and can't be worse than what Edmonton has.

to Edmonton

Korpisalo

to Boston

C. Delia
2nd Round Pick
3rd Round Pick
M. Petrov

That is an MASSIVE over payment for a guy in the AHL and a soon to be UFA

From the Bruins: “Yes. Yes! YES!!!! No takes backsies!”

From the Oilers: “duh fu…….???”

if it's an overpay, fine, but, would the Bruins trade Michael DiPietro? The guy is 25 and one of the best goalies in the NHL, he's been fairly highly touted as a young prospect, and just hasn't gotten a chance yet.

I'm an Oilers fan, and I'm desperate. Sure, the proposal was probably too rich, but I'm willing to try anything. If I'm the Bruins, regardless of Diepietro being a pending RFA, he's the starting goalie on your AHL team, and they aren't going to just give him away for nothing.

I've liked Diepietro for a while, he's never had a save percentage under .900 as a pro., he's a guy who I'd love to have in Edmonton as another option.

I think Bowman should of tried to get him in the Fredric deal, by adding more to it. What is a realistic return that the Bruins would accept for him?

Would that be enough? I don't think it would be.

You wouldn't get one of those pieces for DiPietro, let alone all of them.
ok, so I overpaid for sure. would you even want to take a shot on Diepietro? or would you rather stick with Stu/Picks, with Dilia and Rodrigue? Edmonton needs to try something, probably not at my original proposal cost, but I would somewhat overpay for Diepietro TODAY.

I want to see what the Bruins might have in Dipietro. You can have Korpi for nothing as he is an average backup. I just want the cap relief. Swayman is in almost nobody's good graces right and I would actually give him up for a low price because he screwed the Bruins in negotiations and is not that good.
