Prospect Info: 2025 NHL Entry Draft

Because he was 16 at the time and almost no one is talking about it. Plus it looks like he took responsibility for it and did penance for it. Kids make mistakes and adults should show the proper judgement in terms of how long and how severe to punish them for it. Whatever he did shouldn’t be a life sentence punishment IMO.
Thats all fine and dandy that it isn't a factor to you, but that doesn't mean it isn't a factor. PV may feel the same as you, but I doubt it considering how much they value character and IQ.

We don't even know what it is lol. IDK how you can write it off as a non-factor.

I think we can move on though because it really is a moot point since we don't have any details other then "something" happened 2 years ago.

Agree with your last sentence. Speculation just ruins the discussion completely and isn’t fair to the player or the other posters who just want to focus on hockey.

I'll give my top 10.

1. Schaffer.

2. Misa.

3. Martone.

4. Hagens.

5. Frondell.

6. Caleb D.

7. Obrien.

8. McQueen.

9. Eklund.
10. Mrtka.

Yeah I do and I’d rather talk about the hockey aspect rather than the other. As soon as someone mentioned the issue earlier it completely derailed the conversation and now that is all that matters apparently. If you want to talk about lakovic the hockey player I’m glad to do so. But I’m not going to engage in speculating about the other because it ALWAYS ends up destroying the topic and the thread. You get that?
Yes yes, "stick to sports". Just because it doesn't matter to you doesn't mean it doesn't matter to other people and shouldn't be discussed. You are not forced to participate in that part of the conversation.

Why hasn't Dirk weighed on the Ducks pick yet ? I miss reading his meme like analysis of draft prospects. I think he'd like Martin if he was 6'4, I think he probably prefers McQueen ot Mrtka but he might say one of them is a gentle giant.

Hmmm, I think you are galaxy braining that a bit. I think it shows that he was the offensive driver of his CHL team and didn't have much in the way of support. And still and displayed that he was a driver on a loaded team. 25% contribution is really good, a player with 25% contribution on a decent NHL team is a 60+ point player. Not saying that that stat translates 1 to 1, obviously.

Should also be noted he really only played 6 of the games in the tournament, he was thrown out 3 minutes into the semi finals.

Also should be noted that Team Canada stats are always wonky because the surrounding talent is often out of proportion good, and the talent played against is comparable weak, exacerbated by Russia not attending.

I see lots of mumbo jumbo in your post, which makes my point that small samples shouldn't matter. Though, using percentages without sharing the raw stats is hiding the big picture. Boasting 36% contribution production on total goals scored when he notched 2g+2a in five playoff games is disingenuous when compared to his WJC-18 production of 25% contribution when he put up 3g + 8a in seven games. Speaking of WJC-18, team Canada won easily in the semifinal 4-0 without Martin on the ice, so does that contribute to the notion that Martin is a complimentary player? The answer is "small samples shouldn't matter" when we have two seasons of Martin available to us.

That’s not a factor at all. Like almost everyone in this draft class he has flaws. The two main ones being that he is not very physical despite his size and that he is inconsistent. The upside though is a top six LW which in this draft would be a big win if other players are gone by pick 10.

That "not very physical" -thing. Does it mean that he doesn't initiate contact much, but is ready to take a hit to make the play (like Anze Kopitar)?

Or is he a "softie", who avoids contact (he is maybye intimidatable)?

Or he just physically undeveloped?

Has the Ducks taking Lynden Lakovic
my only issue with lakovic is that he doesn't play like a guy who is 6'4. maybe he's still getting used to his size, but from what i've seen, he tends to shy away from contact. i like his vision and he has good hands and a good shot, so i wouldn't be mad if he's the pick if mrtka and eklund are gone. would prefer him to mcqueen

Right now, McQueen and Mrtka would be classified as gentle giants by Dirk standards. Dirk would approve of Martin and LD Aitcheson. Although, I think the Ducks won Dirk over with the Solberg pick last draft... the Ducks won all Duck fans over with the Solberg pick last draft. The Ducks did recently sign 2023, 4th round pick LD Konnor Smith, who is a 6'6 pugilist.

I have Martin & Aitcheson above Mrtka or McQueen. McQueen I havent seen much of but theres too many questions on not just the injuries but his style of play doesnt seem translatable. Mrtka is just not a very smart defender and loses every battle for the puck somehow. IMO Martin & Aitcheson have the ability to take over games.

To many teams in the top 9 need centers badly, i think Mcqueen will go pretty early.
Mrtka is a guy that a team is going to love and jump on, his physical stats are just too intriguing... i think Buffalo would love to grab Mrtka.

Team that seems hard to predict is the kraken...i could def see them go Aitcheson/Jackson or Martin.

The more I think about it, I more I think it's likely that 1 of Mqueen Martin or Eklund is available at 10.

If none of those 3 are available, it means that besides Schaffer, only F were taken in the top 9.

I'm in the camp of Mqueen, Obrien, Eklund Marti/ In that order.

But I would be happy with any of those guys. What about you?
