I’m okay with this tbh…. Team at least showed fight this year.Buffalo is the team to watch. They have a lot of talent and are playing good hockey. I could see them passing the ducks.
Seattle maybe too
I see us finishing 5th or 6th worst and securing a top 7 pick
Button has released his latest list. Not the most accurate list but he is a legit scout.
Hagens dropping to 6 is a real possibility with how size is prioritised in past drafts. Would be painful to just miss out on him if we pick 7th.
1. Schaefer
2. Misa
3. Martone
4. Frondell
5. McQueen
6. Hagens
7. Desnoyers
8. Schmidt
9. Eklund
10. O'Brien

Craig’s List: Michael Misa climbs to No. 2 after exceptional OHL season | TSN
The Saginaw Spirit forward is on the rise in Craig Button's fourth NHL draft prospect ranking of the season after winning the OHL scoring race and topping the 60-goal mark.www.tsn.ca
The next two very winnable games will go a long way towards confirming or refuting your prediction. I’m of the opinion that they’ll finish in the 9-12 range.Buffalo is the team to watch. They have a lot of talent and are playing good hockey. I could see them passing the ducks.

I was hoping for F Ryker Lee to slip further into the second half of the 2nd round to where we would pick, but his stock is gaining a lot of steam. Wheeler published today his top-64 had Lee going 34th. Craig Button also published his top-64 list today and has Lee ranked 29th. That's a huge jump from CSB's Mid-term ranking of 40th on the NA skater list; The international skaters are on a separate list, which would push Lee further down when combined.
Lee is NCAA bound to Michigan State. Some playoff team might nab and stash him for a couple of seasons in college. Could be a great find late in the 1st or early 2nd round with a couple of media scouting propping him up higher now.
I could see more of these late push type guys making the first round this year, there just isn't the same level of quality to compete with once you're popping on the radar.

The Crash the Pond guys held a draft forum podcast called "Crash the Draft" with two other Ducks media people, Patrick Present of TSN and Connor Plutko, I think he's a Crash the Pond blog writer. Surprisingly, they're high on Hagens. I haven't watched Hagens, but they have and are quite positive on Hagens.
Will his nickname be Tom Hagen or The Consigliere ? The Godfather references lolHagens would be amazing for us, outside of top 5 most likely
Bear is out with that gnarly laceration though. Unfortunate because he seems like he would be a weapon in the play offsThe WHL playoffs will be on Victory+. Although, I don't see anything on Victory+ yet showing WHL playoffs for the up and coming banner.
Watch a couple of Ducks in RD Port with Lethbridge and LD Tarin Smith with Everett. Of course, there are 2025 prospects to watch too. 6'5 C Roger McQueen plays with Brandon Wheat Kings. LD Jackson Smith plays for Tri-City. 6'6 RD Mrtka plays for Seattle. C/LW Bear plays for Everett (2 for 1 b/c Tarin Smith plays for Everett too).

If they draft Hagens that's a steal at where their drafting but it also means Zegras rumors will increase. Hagens probably needs another year to develop but when he's ready I can't see Verbeek ok with all 3 of Zegras, Hagens and Terry in the lineup. Hagens will be a LW if he's drafted by the Ducks.
I don’t really see a point in trading zegras unless it’s for an obvious upgrade…. Or guys like sennecke/potential pick this year kick him out of the line up, which I feel like we’re minimum 2 years away fromThat would be unfortunate.
As bad as Zegras is defensively, he is one of the few (if not the only) creative forward that is constantly looking for scoring opportunities. Trading him away would be a huge blemish on Verbeek
I think at this point it is prudent to expect the Ducks to be picking in the 9-14 range (pre-lottery)...
But Philly has also played 3 more games. Going by percentage (instead of points) the Ducks are closer to 14th place right now than they are to 8th. And as confident as this team is now, I can see them picking up 8-10 more points in the final ten games.SJ is the only weak team left on the schedule. We might be stuck at 9. Although, Philly has found itself a two-game winning streak with the interim coach and 3 points behind us.
