Damn, Caleb Desnoyers is on Fire....He will go between 5 and 7 I think....

9 goals and 10 assists in his last 10 games.

He has 23 goals and 28 assists (51 points) in 31 games this season so far and is getting better and better.
I’ll one up you. If he continues like this he will challenge the top 4. Some scouts will look at the complete package he offers vs Misa and have him higher, some will look at the fact that he is C and will have him ahead of Martone. Some might even compare his size to someone like Hagens and have him higher because of that.

For sure if he continues to improve there will be teams holding him in higher regards to some of those top players, however the "Q" factor is real and some teams might be hesitant to draft a player from the QMJHL that high with regard to how the last high draft picks from this league have played out....I know that's dumb, but don't forget that this is mostly a old boys league and they're stuck in their ways.

Then k hope he falls to us lol. I’ve lost hope for a top 4 so if we come out with Carter Bear or Caleb Desnoyers I’ll be thrilled. Those are my realistic two targets for us now.

Yep..its dumb like all the dumb fans and Gm who draft 6.1 forward before a 5.11 no matter what.

In 2022 I did a test with few friends who don't follow young prospects:

I told them; this year we have maybe a choice between 3 forwards;

Shane Wright that you mignt know already... but 2 others as well.:

Slafkovski his name . HE is 6.4 220. On purpose I only said that about him.

...and Logan Cooley great player with very good vision ..him he is at 5.10 185.

All of.my friends..without even seeing a clip.of those 2...all said...easy choice you draft the 6.4...

It's 2024 sorry but I meant it.....People are still dumb about size in Hockey.

I know that some Gm don't even watch some Q players....

Let me.tell.you they are dumb as a rock...as well

I said it, Desnoyers is #4 for me ahead of Misa.

Yes, his upside could be similar to Jonathan Toews and his lowside could be Sean Couturier.

If Habs want to take a homerun in top 12-16 areas, I would take Ivan Ryabkin.
I wanted him during the summer but I would stay clear of him now, way too many red flags.

and that's just his 2nd game here. He was nasty in this game, thought he was going to get into a fight as he was really mixing it up in front of the net and looked to be getting pissed. That hit was something.
I don't remember him ever being that physical in the MHL either, this is a new look for him. He was never soft per se, but this is something else.

You guys think Cameron Schmidt could drop out of the top 15 because of his size ?
If so i would jump on him like we did with CC at mid round

My new target since we are not getting a top 5 is Carter Bear

My personal new targets right outside the top 10 are Lynden Lakovic and Malcolm Spence.

Top 4 is pretty set and clear, Frondell and Desnoyers will go top 10, Jackson Smith too. Victor Eklund should also be a top-10 pick. In the same manner, McQueen probably gets drafted high despite all the injury red flags because of how high-end his tools are/could be in the NHL.

If all I've posted above checks-out, then #10 or #11 would have a good pool of players available, guys like Lakovic, Bear, Schmidt, and Spence.

Although we'd have a massive need for RD, guys like Hensler and Fiddler, who'd be my #1 and #2 RDs, aren't close to BPA right outside the top-10 so we'd go with one of the forwards.

Of those, my personal favorite would be Cameron Schmidt, but he and Bear share a similar profile (smallish but talented wingers) that I don't think fits in with what the Canadiens have on their roster and what is in their prospect pool right now.

Hence, guys like Lakovic and Spence, that offer two-way ability, have good size/skating, and could be top-6 players with proper development come into the spotlight for us.

Lakovic would have the added benefit of potentially sticking at center in the NHL, but Spence has a high-end motor, and I really like his fire. If Spence managed to play a more "controlled" type of game he could be a great middle-6 winger with good defense, speed, and physicality.

So yeah, this is how I see things currently. But this is bound to change as I watch more games and players start to fall/rise in status as the Draft comes around the corner.

Guys think about that....

Cameron Schmidt vs
Cayden Lindstrom

One is 6.4 and was a top 5 player last year right.

The other is 5.8.......where he us on your list????

Cause..they have the same stats after 32 games......lol

Schmidt has 28 goals and Lindstrom had 27 goals.

Lindstrom was drafted 4th
Schmidt wii be draft at maybe what 15th ?

Si basically his size will punish him of about 10 rank...right

Gm are very dumb...

Can I ask 2 questions?

1, what do you think of Alex Huang?
2. Which RD do you think will be available for us to pick in the 2nd or 3rd round?
