He's an older player. He turned 18 September 22. He's pretty much a full year older than Schaefer.
He's not putting up the heavy offensive numbers you'd like to see. He has 38 pts in 30 games, which is OK. By comparison, Ryan Roobroeck, who has almost the exact same birthday, but is a full year younger, has 49 pts in 34 games.
Carter Bear is also an early fall birthday and is already 18. He has 50 pts in 28 games for Everett.
You'd expect someone Spence's age to be well above ppg. It gets scouts concerned about his offensive upside in NHL if he can't be a major contributor in Junior hockey.
