Martone and Misa being 2PPG in the CHL is great. They should be considered game breaking talents. #2 and 3 for me.

Hagens at #4.

Then there is everyone else. Habs drafting anyone of those 4 would be a success. Anyone else will feel a bit of a failure.

Going back to his U18 and this year's WJC. Hagen's has 26 points in those 8 games. No way he goes past 2

Yeah, Schaefer, Hagens & Misa might becoming the big 3. Martone has an October birthday so is already 18. Hagens is doing far more at the same age.

Misa's 2 pts per game in OHL can't be ignored. His assists have caught up to his goal scoring, too. He's better defensively than people think.

Being realistic with where we pick, we should absolutely shoot for Desnoyers in the 10-12 range. Still a little light, but great skills, skating, attitude and 200 foot game. If he ever gets to 195+ without losing his skating, he absolutely can be a great NHL center.

Also from multiple viewings of Moncton and Slovakia, Im very confident Pekarcik will be the next Slovakian star, maybe even more so than Slaf and Nemec. Great all around player with a very mature game and a great frame. Mark Stone type ceiling

We'll probably need to pick #5-7 to get Desnoyers so you better hope we start losing! Two goals for him tonight.

His somewhat limited offensive ceiling as a pro, mainly. His production has been excellent, but he's not showing a ton of progression tool wise. He's a heck of a complementary offensive player though, you put him with the right linemates and he can be an absolute force.

He's an older player. He turned 18 September 22. He's pretty much a full year older than Schaefer.

He's not putting up the heavy offensive numbers you'd like to see. He has 38 pts in 30 games, which is OK. By comparison, Ryan Roobroeck, who has almost the exact same birthday, but is a full year younger, has 49 pts in 34 games.

Carter Bear is also an early fall birthday and is already 18. He has 50 pts in 28 games for Everett.

You'd expect someone Spence's age to be well above ppg. It gets scouts concerned about his offensive upside in NHL if he can't be a major contributor in Junior hockey.

Yeah, if we keep Evans. A Spence-Evans-Heineman line would be a huge pain in the ass, two-way force to play against. But, that's what you're drafting.

He could be a good winger for Dach - Demidov, too. Depends on what we do with Laine & Newhook, but that's for another thread.

Offensive upside is probably limited to a Foegele/Joseph/Martinook type of player.

I could see him work super well with Hage or Demidov, even Laine if he stays long term. I like his potential as a solid offensive complementary player a la Lehkonen, in short. He won't drive the play but he'll facilitate everything.

Right on, Spence probably slide at draft then. Might get a shot at him with our second rounder

Then Eklund would be an even better fit to play that role. Kids amazing

Eklund is the closest thing to Leonard this year. Just a bit less strong and more skilled. This kid would be an amazing pick at 5-7

Flames pick would be lower than 17 as they're out of the wild card. I expect them to hit a swoon at some point in the season that will bring them down to the 10-12 range and make it close as to whether they get to protect that pick.
 
If CGY pick stay between 11-16 and MTL pick between top 5-15.

I would be very fine with that.

Picking 2 times in top 16 that can be a game changer for the rebuild if they hit well (Yess, top 4 would be already a game changer, but MTL play very good at this moment).

Caufield and Guhle are both #15 and #16 draft pick.
