2025 NHL DRAFT

If you guys win and draft Schaefer, do you bring him into the NHL right away, do you send him back to junior to play another full season in the O, or do you steer him to a desirable NCAA program to face age appropriate competition before turning pro?

Feel like Schaefer is the perfect Josi replacement in the long term, passing of the torch.

If we end up with pick 3 and take Desnoyers I will probably smash in my tv screen lol. I honestly think the top 3 will be Schafer, Misa and Hagens. There is way too much to love about Hagens overall game and sure he’s under 6’ but so is Crosby. Look at what the experts say about Hagens ideal draft spot, only one person (Craig Button) had him ranked lower than 4th overall:

Here is where Desnoyers is being ranked, only one source (cosentio) has him ranked as a top 3 pick:

If we go third, and Misa and Schaefer were the top 2, we go Hagens alllllll day long. Hagens is going to be a stud I firmly believe this. Also another big plus of this outcome is then I don’t have to buy a new tv haha
Blue chip prospect has him at 3 too… Desnoyers is the fastest riser in the draft .

the only guys I’d take before him are Misa, Frondell and maybe Martone

The fanbase will revolt if we take Schaefer

I agree hagens has to be the pick if Misa is gone. Trotz doesn't need to over think it but I'm sure he will so go ahead and order that new TV lol
Hagens seems very risky and has had a very mediocre draft year

His d-1 production is what is carrying him still

His draft year production is equivalent to that of Gavin Brindley or even Matthew Wood- great for a mid round pick- awful for the pointy end of the draft

College seems ideal place for him next year.

I think if we draft 34 or five there’s a risk Trotz goes slightly off the board in a swing for the fences, smartest guy in the room move for a center not ranked at that spot. Like McQueen at 4OA.

I don’t think we screw up 1 or 2 but then all bets are off.

Nashville has never had the opportunity to pick a game changer at forward. The last thing the organization needs is another blue chip Defenseman. I do not doubt Trotz takes him but he’s not what would excite the fan base. But he should play 2 years before turn pro

Misa's team got eliminated from the OHL playoffs. Misa didn't play in the last game - but hopefully it's nothing too serious as he's eligible to play in the upcoming U18's.

Trying to get a viewing on Frondell today. Game 4 for Djurgården in Semi-Finals in Allsvenskan. Series is 2-1 for Frondell's club.

Pittsburgh will get McKenna. Gotta have the next wunderkind mentored by Sid 🤮
The best way to prove that the ping-pong balls are not rigged in favor of Pittsburgh is to go ahead and rig them this year in favor of the predators to get the first overall selection before rigging them next year. Surely someone at the league is playing chess on this topic.

I really like the sounds of Desnoyers as a player, but… as a consolation pick outside the top-5. We can’t miss out on taking the bigger swing.

It sounds like Misa was injured during the playoffs. Hence the lack of scoring? Maybe not ready to play in U18s either, alas? :dunno:

On the plus side, getting knocked out of the top 5 pick at this point is near impossible. We would have to win our last 5 games and the teams picking after us lose all their remaining games.

Last 5 games are against
Islanders
Utah
VGK
Utah
DAL

Islanders have realistically fallen out of the wildcard race. Utah is also out. Vegas and Dallas are top 5 in the league in points. I don't see a scenario where we win all 5 games.

Bad news is: we sucked enough to get a top 5 pick. This year has been maddening watching this team.

I want my damn unicorn, and I want it now!
Alas, that mythical beast may not be making an appearance in this year's draft. He is waiting for next year. :crossfing:

This year, we probably get a bit of an impostor. Who could still be our best-ever drafted player, mind you. Just not quite the full real unicorn. :dunno:

I do not like having Boston sitting in the 4 spot right behind us either. That's a very league-favored type of team too. :help:

A unipony is ok.

A cat in a hat? Not so much.

Absolutely don't see one of the worst teams in the league trading a ton of futures for a 35 year old player with an extensive concussion history. At the end of the day, what's that put our center depth at? The team looks like it would still suck

I can't even digest that nonsense.

We're not trading Forsberg, Josi, or O'Reilly, so what's the point in reading this drivel? :dunno:
