Here's a photo of Trotz scouting another young forward prospect:
Just imagine our announcers butchering his name over and over againMrtka needs to buy a vowel……
O'Brien sounds a little more like Johansen than O'Reilly to me? But honestly, if we get a chance at a decent-sized center who is ranked anywhere in the top-15, I think we have to jump on that.O'Brien too. He is a riser and would be viable choice in top 10. He isn't as polished as Desnoyers, but maybe has more talent.
Mcqueen scares me. Back injuries are no joke.
I wasn’t here for RyJo days, but I do see a bit of Robert Thomas in O’Brien. I’ve been watching good bit of Brantford to see Jiricek and O’Brien keeps catching my eye.O'Brien sounds a little more like Johansen than O'Reilly to me? We should take a C almost no matter what? I don't think in this draft there is really any kind of roadmap that says there are going to be crazy-good players at 11ish that clearly beat any C options. I mean, who knows, you can always watch for surprise faller. But O'Brien seems like a legit option.
Definitely keep us informed then... none of us will see these guys otherwise, so any firsthand reports will be greatly appreciated.I wasn’t here for RyJo days, but I do see a bit of Robert Thomas in O’Brien. I’ve been watching good bit of Brantford to see Jiricek and O’Brien keeps catching my eye.
The only centers who project to be better look to go in the top 10 or so- Hagens, Misa, Frondell perhaps, Desnoyers likely, O'Brien maybe. Beyond that I don't see any centers that look as promising as what we have in the system already (maybe Cootes, but he is a bit undersized for a center and may end up on wing). Are any of the centers located in the 10-15 area projected to be better than what we have in Svechkov, Edstrom, Surin, and Nilsson? If not, id rather get one of the dmen with size to help fill that need. We dont really have much of a pipeline there either. If there is one then that is still an area of need and we can use the later 1sts on dmen.
Wonder if we can make a package to get another in that 10-15 range or pick up another 1st round pick with a deadline trade.
I actually prefer Frondell over Desnoyers. I feel like both have somewhat limited offensive upsides, but Frondell's a ROR-type of player with big size and commanding presence all over the ice. Hell of a shot, too.The more I think about where we end up the more I'm liking Caleb Desnoyers
Jesus christ I'm getting old.Blake is Vern Fiddler’s kid!
