What do you mean by “go crazy”? Like they don’t like him?If Martone were available when the Bruins pick, do you think they might take him?
I know most posters here would go crazy if they did.

Most posters will go crazy regardless of who they pick. They’re already going crazy and we don’t even know our draft slot yet.If Martone were available when the Bruins pick, do you think they might take him?

Depends on the pick. I wouldn't take him before 6 until I see his current playoffs. If Martone were available when the Bruins pick, do you think they might take him?

Bruins win the lottery, you’re taking Schaefer for them? Understand ranking him 1, but for the Bruins they have to go Misa right?Depends on the pick. I wouldn't take him before 6 until I see his current playoffs.
Oh I wouldn’t care about that.Like he's not a center.
I would trade down to 2Bruins win the lottery, you’re taking Schaefer for them? Understand ranking him 1, but for the Bruins they have to go Misa right?
On Jan 1 Martone was 8 points behind Misa in scoring.Oh I wouldn’t care about that.
I have questions about Martone for sure, but I still think we’d be fortunate to land him.
I want a centre but whatever I have no sayMost posters will go crazy regardless of who they pick. They’re already going crazy and we don’t even know our draft slot yet.
I don't care if it was PJ who some here revere so much, he should have been told to Shut up and then canned after the draft.PJ. He actually pounded the table. I wasn't at the draft, but someone I know very well was and as the Bruins were discussing their choice, they clearly saw PJ pound the table.
The 2016-2017 season was Bob Wetick's first with the Bruins scouting the OHL, and while he came with an excellent reputation as Director of Scouting with the North Bay Battalion and OHL Central Scouting, he had not been implanted as a firm voice at the draft table for Boston. Now? He's one of their most trusted and talented scouts.
I would trade down to 2
Because other teams may also be looking to trade into #1 slot. It’s not #2 team vs Bruins, it’s #2 vs everyone else in top 10. You answered your own question.I don´t get sense in doing that. Why should the team picking second overall should give you anything for the pick if they know you don´t want to draft the projected number one player. And if you want to flip because you want to take Misa you surely want to know from each other who each team want to take because if you flip and they take Misa, you just shot yourself in the leg. If they know you want Misa or Hagens they just let you take him and go with Schaefer or who they would be alright in picking. I only see the sense in doing that if you have a team that picks third or fourth overall and wants to jump to first overall AND the Bruins would be ok in drafting anybody of Hagens, Desnoyers, Martone or Frondell at third or fourth overall.
Depends on who is second. If your SJ, do you want Schaefer or one of the forwards?I don´t get sense in doing that. How about if the Bruins won lottery they trade back a spot then take Misa with an extra pick or prospect in pocket. If they selected Schaefer I would fully expect them to ask McAvoy to waive and send him to NYR for Lefrenniere + because they need scoring help up front as they retool or rebuild this mess..This was a good post though you put up here .Good read.Been looking at this draft and reading about the prospects. Seems like the Bruins need to get into the top 6 to get a high end player. Preferably a Center.
I believe the top 6 are elite potential (not necessarily in order of pick):
1. Schaefer, D Broke his collarbone in World Juniors. Elite skater. Projected to go to SJ as #1 pick. He's a complete player.
2. Misa, F - Wow! Would be a dangerous pair with Bedard in Chicago. Granted exceptional status into the OHL as a 15-year-old. Quite the phenom. One of the best pure goal-scorers in the CHL and is on track for one of the most impressive goal-scoring draft campaigns that we’ve seen out of the OHL in quite some time. Moved to Center this year.
3. Frondell, Sweden. big time shot release. Best pure shooter in this draft. Already strong enough for the pro game.
4. Hagens - Small dynamic skill and skater. Have watched him a lot at BC. Bruins should be thrilled to get a kid like this. He's dynamic. Has the potential to go #1 overall as well. Speed, speed, speed. Hagens is always in motion. He’s exceptionally difficult to check and contain. On the power play he floats around the offensive zone in an attempt to find open ice and get pucks to the net.
5. Desnoyers - Middle 6 Center. Good playmaker and very smart. Desnoyers thinks the game at an elite level. He’s calculating off the rush and displays an ability to attack with speed or pull up, take stock of his options, and distribute.
6. Martone - Power Forward. Skilled big man. Bruins kind of player. He's a wing. Martone has a very quick catch and release. He wastes no time ripping pucks on net. He’s a solid skater for his stature and was deployed in all situations for the Steelheads in the regular season.
7. The wildcard is Eklund. He's undersized but dynamic. Would be a good pick at #7. Eklund never goes away. He’s undersized but always around the play. He generally leans goal scorer, but has the vision and playmaking ability to distribute as well
I am not wild about McQueen. The scouts are skeptical of his skating.
If the Bruins win the lottery, they have to take Misa. If they selected Schaefer, they could trade one of the other D. Lohrei? I love Misa, he looks like an absolute stud.
With the Flyers win yesterday, the Bruins are tied for #6-8 (69 points), with the Penguins and Flyers. Buffalo just beat Washington, so they now have 68 points with the Kraken. Bruins should continue losing. They can get into the top 5. Maybe even top 4? Would benefit the future to lose now!
Stop with the trading of McAvoy, regardless if they won the lottery and pick the D.How about if the Bruins won lottery they trade back a spot then take Misa with an extra pick or prospect in pocket. If they selected Schaefer I would fully expect them to ask McAvoy to waive and send him to NYR for Lefrenniere + because they need scoring help up front as they retool or rebuild this mess..This was a good post though you put up here .Good read.
He has to stay on the ice for that to happenStop with the trading of McAvoy, regardless if they won the lottery and pick the D.
You rebuild around him not trade him.
You don't trade one of the best D in the league. Have you been watching this garbage since he's been out?He has to stay on the ice for that to happen. Anyhow my reply to other poster was about if they a actually won the lottery and decided to draft Schaefer or as I suggested in trading back. They don't need both them right away with that centre hole on top line.
He misses way to many games you ask me but fair enough. My post was only if they drafted Schaefer who will be far better player. If they traded back like I suggested then they would get the centre and still have McAvoy who has a NTC anyhow.Regardless this scenario would take a crap load of luck to win lottery so probably moot and not even worth debating. You don't trade one of the best D in the league. Have you been watching this garbage since he's been out?
If we win the lottery they would take the d man in my view. Use the 2 seconds to move up to get your offense.
Adding back Charlie ,Lindholm and add Schaefer ? holy smokes
I have a very good feeling we will win the lotteryHe misses way to many games you ask me but fair enough. My post was only if they drafted Schaefer who will be far better player. If they traded back like I suggested then they would get the centre and still have McAvoy who has a NTC anyhow.Regardless this scenario would take a crap load of luck to win lottery so probably moot and not even worth debating.
But your comment was why would #2 trade into #1 spot if they know the Bruins don’t want Schaefer. I just explained why. If the Bruins land 1st overall and want Misa, the #2 team isn’t the only team hunting for Schaefer. There would be competition.I don´t see a team who is picking first overall trading further down than third or fourth overall but I get what you are saying.
Schaefer is a left shot, they’d be moving Lindholm, Zadorov, or Lohrei to fit him in if they draft himHe misses way to many games you ask me but fair enough. My post was only if they drafted Schaefer who will be far better player. If they traded back like I suggested then they would get the centre and still have McAvoy who has a NTC anyhow.Regardless this scenario would take a crap load of luck to win lottery so probably moot and not even worth debating.
