I don’t see it. Big soft winger who will probably flop if he can’t play in your top 6.
Not just that but winger isn't exactly a big need in the prospect pool

I want Aitcheson

Power is worse defensively than Kyrou, no thanksKyrou and pick No. 19 for Owen Power.
Glad you’re coming around on Reschny but help me understand what you’re talking about regarding a drop off in international competition. He tied for the lead in scoring for Canada at the Hlinka-Gretzky (more points than McKenna, Schaefer and Desnoyers) and in the 5 games he played at the U18s he was the leading scorer for Canada there too. The 2 games he missed (because he was still playing in the WHL playoffs) were routs over Slovakia and Latvia. Cootes scored 6 of his 12 pts in the tourney in those 2 games. Martin scored 4 of his 11 in those 2 games. I have no doubt that had Reschny played in those 2 games he would’ve padded his stats too.I’m starting to come around a bit on Reschny. The production speaks for itself, although the occasional dropoff at international competition is cause for some concern. But from what I’ve seen, he’s around the net and creating for himself a lot more than I expected. He’s very good at manipulating space, and finding seams between defenders from anywhere/everywhere. I wouldn’t call him a defensive stalwart, but he’s engaged and you can tell he cares about all 200 feet. He’s surprisingly good on the dot: 56% last season.
If we take him at 19, I’ll get why. I still think his size makes him less attractive than some others, but I’m starting to see the appeal
Yeah, it’s less about how much he scored and more about when. I just didn’t like some of his games. But, I tend to think of junior tourneys as the kinds of things that don’t matter unless they do. If that makes sense. I’m not going to completely sink a guy for having a couple of off nights, but if he stinks against the best competition, or he flat out dominates, it’s noteworthy.Glad you’re coming around on Reschny but help me understand what you’re talking about regarding a drop off in international competition. In the last three seasons, Power (22yo, 6’6”, 226) is +8 in 234 games and Parayko (32yo, 6’6”, 228) is -3 in 225 games. I wouldn’t mind another Parayko, who is 10 years younger.Power is worse defensively than Kyrou, no thanks
Kyrou for Power and #9Kyrou and pick No. 19 for Owen Power.

Why would we trade our top goal scorer for yet another LD?Kyrou for Power and #9
Because Kyrou is expendable since we have a bunch of players that maybe someday might possibly become 35 goal scorers at some point in their career. Why would we trade our top goal scorer for yet another LD?
Elite Prospects lists him as 5'10"and 187 lbs. That isn't that small. And he could still grow.Glad you’re coming around on Reschny but help me understand what you’re talking about regarding a drop off in international competition. I’m guessing wherever he ends up, he probably starts on the wing. The two reasons I think he can potentially stick at center tho: he is not a perimeter player, and he’s surprisingly good on the dot already. I’d feel a lot better if he could play at ~200lbs without losing his foot speed though.Elite Prospects lists him as 5'10"and 187 lbs. That isn't that small. And he could still grow.
I'm more concerned as to whether he projects as a winger or a centre. If it is the former, I am much less interested.
I’m being facetious. I don’t want him or to trade Kyrou either. Asking Kyrou and our first for Power….whateverWhy would we trade our top goal scorer for yet another LD?
I’ve got a good feeling about Cootes as well. Button released a new ranking with him and Gastrin right around the Blues pick:Extremely interested in this Braeden Cootes kid. Feels like i'm watching Robert Thomas 2.0(as a prospect). A little undersized and not an elite shooter/goalscorer, which is why he's outside the top 15. But Great puck control, high end smarts, vision/playmaking ability, not the fastest straight ahead but a very efficient elusive and strong skater with a nice compete level/motor on loose pucks. All the traits that i thought thomas had and would translate to the next level, I see in Cootes so far, obviously I haven't watched him a ton but in my viewings he's been super impressive.
Yeah I thought he was smaller than that too lolI’ve got a good feeling about Cootes as well. Button released a new ranking with him and Gastrin right around the Blues pick:

I think that is misprint. Everyone else lists him at 6’.I’ve got a good feeling about Cootes as well. Button released a new ranking with him and Gastrin right around the Blues pick:

I think they made light of them having him listed at 6'3" last time he posted a list. You would've thought they would've corrected it. haha.I think that is misprint. Everyone else lists him at 6’.
