He looked super rough when I watched him the other night (playoff games are all on Victory+). I don't see him as worth a 1st round pick. Maybe late 2nd/3rd, but we don't have either and he is such a project that I wouldn't consider him a priority pick.I know it's probably not interesting now considering we're currently in the playoffs...but if we keep our first-round pick, would Max Psenicka be of any interest to us? Czech right-handed defenseman who played for the Portland Winterhawks this year, apparently a two-way defenseman with room to grow at 6'4", 185 lbs.? Not the best stats, but the potential's there.
Fair. I just would prefer to spend the fifth and sixth round picks on European centers or RHD. Not sure whom is going to be available in our range, noticed Psenicka is a RHD, and thought he'd be a good target in the first. He looked super rough when I watched him the other night (playoff games are all on Victory+). I like a Swede Linus Funck seems like a guy to take a chance on. Not getting the scouts attention but good player. Also like the 2+center Pekarcik plays with Julius Sumpf I think he was missed and worth a late pick.Fair. I just would prefer to spend the fifth and sixth round picks on European centers or RHD. I think it would be fun to pick G.
We’re due to pick one. Haven’t done so since the neighbors draft.
I’m on team Ravensbergen. Interesting to have a higher pedigree prospect in net.
Taking an overager with a later pick is not a terrible idea. Very rarely is it a good idea in the top 100 picks, and only under very special circumstances. But for later picks, you’re just filling out the Springfield roster on an accelerated timeline.I like a Swede Linus Funck seems like a guy to take a chance on. Sumpf may be a sleeper. I don’t know how much offense will translate (basically true of all kids), but he is a swift 200 ft faceoff winning machine.Taking an overager with a later pick is not a terrible idea. Psh, we're picking 32With their win tonight, Ottawa passed us in the League Wide Standings.
That means, as of now, the Blues are slated to pick #19 before any PO shenanigan's begin(I'm not about to try explaining all the possible scenario's until the 3rd round of the PO's).
Also interesting to note; Montreal will have back to back picks at 16 and 17. I think there's a very real opportunity to trade up right there.
Wonder if the Habs would trade one of those picks for Jiricek? Would love to have a couple picks to either package for a RD/C or have two legit shots at grabbing a player that becomes a solid NHL’er.With their win tonight, Ottawa passed us in the League Wide Standings.

Why woukd we trade Jiricek for another pick? I get dealing him for age appropriate 2c or rd that can step in right away, but dealing him for mid 1st round pick in weak draft makes no sense.Wonder if the Habs would trade one of those picks for Jiricek? Because you have to give to get. And while many disagree with me, I hated that pick, he seems injury prone, and I don’t see him as a long term top 4 Dman. Soooo…..even in a weak draft, I’d like an extra pick, to either make or trade. Again, totally respect your opinion if you disagree, I just don’t see it with him.Why woukd we trade Jiricek for another pick? Isn't Montreal's cupboard pretty well stocked at D? Looking at their current roster and prospects:Wonder if the Habs would trade one of those picks for Jiricek? Would love to have a couple picks to either package for a RD/C or have two legit shots at grabbing a player that becomes a solid NHL’er.
Depends on who is available with the pick, it would be the same thing as when we traded Rundblad for #16 and took Tarasenko. If there is a guy there that you like more than Jiricek it would make sense. Not that I think many teams will be lining up to trade for Jiricek with how his post draft season has gone. Rundblad was tearing it up in Sweden at the time. Why woukd we trade Jiricek for another pick?
