I really like Caleb Desnoyers.

Has some serious skill and offensive ability on top of a relentless dog on a bone mentality when pursuing the puck and plays with some p*** and vinegar, absolute prick to play against, our fanbase will love em lol.
I would offer Kyrou for a pick to take him. I see that much of a difference maker. You can build around him for years. He was huge in the CHL US game no matter how it was played. Another Stevie Y.

If you could trade up for Caleb and get Carbonneau with your 2nd pick. We would have a strong core out of this draft. These two just GET it. Any type of game.

No 2nd or 3rd rounder this year. They belong to the Oilers.

Not sure Mrtka lasts until the teens.
With his physical package, he could easily go higher than expected(see Simashev and Silayev).
Yeah, we'll see. Most of the rankings on elite prospects have him between 12-20.

And he's at that spot in the rankings with practically zero offensive numbers.
With the Thunderbirds(he left Czechia for the Seattle Thunderbirds this past week), he'll have a LOT more offensive opportunities(the T-Birds blueline is brutally bad). If he has an offensive surge, he's going to jump even higher in the rankings. Which, in his case, could have him easily inside the top 10(if not the top 5).

That's totally possible. Like I said, we'll have to see what happens.

Not gonna disagree with you with the long term value there, but I don't think we trade kyrou for an 18 yr old right now unless that 18 year old is Matthew Schaefer. I think if we ever do move him, it's probably a year or two from now for a top pair D(when we have the internal kyrou replacements ready to go like Snuggerud) maybe theres something with Werenski if CBj continues to not make playoffs?

Maybe we can add something to our probable 16th pick to trade up for Desnoyers? But there might be something legit defensemen in the 10-16 range this year

Wrong thread, but in a freaking heartbeat
What's your reasoning? Knies is a great complimentary player but I don't see a play driver. He's been stapled to Marner and Matthews and still has significantly less p/gm than Kyrou who has been shuffled around and without elite talent. Knies has room to grow but ai don't see him ever being a gamebreaker. Kyrou while inconsistent has that ability.

Contract and age leans toward Knies now, but he'll need a new deal and will get more expensive next year. If you bridge him, you just kick the can down the road for the big pay increase.

For me, we need elite gamebreakers. Kyrous flashes of that, to me, is worth more than Knies solid play. But maybe you see something more in him.

Nah. We need less offensive players and more grindy players. That will absolutely help us with our terrible offensive play this year.

Toronto would never consider it nor should they unless they're dumb and in addition to being dumb also somehow desire a Kyrou Berube reunion
