Isaac HowardWho is Howard?
He's not signing with Tampa so they're going to trade his rights
Isaac HowardWho is Howard?
Still gotta get through the combineThis pretty much CEMENTS out pick !!!!!!! Hopefully Kyle and Co. grab some large human's (with grit & talent) with all our remaining picks in this draft. Welcome to CHICAGO Caleb . Desnoyers looks like he could be Marc Andre Fleury's Son .
According to Scott Powers, we know that they at least like Misa (provided he's available), Frondell, Desnoyers, and Martone.Nothing about the pick is cemented. We have no idea who they like or don't like at #3.
No mention of Hagens at all?According to Scott Powers, we know that they at least like Misa (provided he's available), Frondell, Desnoyers, and Martone.
That could change of course, but it does give us something to go off of.
would be shocked if the hawks are NOT considering Hagens...No mention of Hagens at all?
I feel like they should put that out there even if it’s not true to try to influence the islanders to take him #1 to prevent them from trading with someone 4-7
He's a much better playmaker and probably the highest compete in this draft class.
Imo, I see Hagens as a top line center. I'm not too worried about his size and see him as a Kane/Hughes type.
Misa is see more as either a good first line center or an elite second line center on a playoff team. His stats are a little over blown compared to Hagens who was playing against older players.
Misa's high end is Pat LaFontaine, while his floor is a second line Matty Beniers type altho I'm higher on Misa then beniers, who is closer to a one year wonder bust then somebody you need to win playoff games.
There's alot to like about both, but I think Hagens is the more talented of the two. I'm also not buying into the media burial of Hagens who was completely on another level when playing against players his own age while still managed a ppg against players older then him. Anybody using that against him is stupid. If he stays in college another year he will dominate it.
I wouldn't dislike it but I just don't think 25OA gets it done for Howard. Only because there are so many teams with multiple 1sts that could be offered to Tampa for him. I think it's going to take more when you look at the market and what other teams would have to offer.
According to Scott Powers, we know that they at least like Misa (provided he's available), Frondell, Desnoyers, and Martone.

Yeah we discussed it a fair bit when Powers put up the article. No mention of Hagens at all?
I feel like they should put that out there even if it’s not true to try to influence the islanders to take him #1 to prevent them from trading with someone 4-7
I'll see if I can find it. I feel like it was a month ago now.Where did he say that they likes those guys? Not saying that you are wrong, just like to read the article.
Yeah we discussed it a fair bit when Powers put up the article.
It's a weird omission.
He showed almost no growth at all over the course of the season, so that could be why.
People like Cam Robinson have also said they wouldn't be shocked if Hagens fell to around 8 on draft night. I think that was in response to Button having Hagens at 8. I guess there must be some chatter from some organizations that aren't as high on him.
I'll see if I can find it. I feel like it was a month ago now.
As soon as Tampa starts asking for a 1st I would hang up. Let someone overpay for Howard. My one thought is that a clear match in Nashville has 23 which obviously trumps 25. Both teams have a fairly strong history of trades, so I believe theirs is the one offer we would have to get creative to beat.
pick 34?As soon as Tampa starts asking for a 1st I would hang up. Let someone overpay for Howard.

So there are these two articles

Blackhawks and NHL Draft Lottery: Everything you need to know
The Blackhawks will find out their 2025 NHL Draft position on Monday. Here's a rundown of what's at stake and the players they could take.www.nytimes.com

Blackhawks get another crack at drafting elite forward with No. 3 pick in 2025 NHL Draft
We don't know their name, but thanks to the results of Monday's NHL Draft Lottery, we know what position the Blackhawks will likely pick.www.nytimes.com
Though after re-reading them, they honestly come across more as speculation based on what Powers is hearing from his colleagues rather than from the Blackhawks specifically.
Unless there's a different article that I'm unable to find, we'll have to wait for closer to the draft when Powers might actually know (like with Levshunov).
Haha that's what's tripping me up too.The thing is that I remember that I’d read something by Powers like a month ago regarding that hawks likes specific players so maybe he changed the article? Or there was another one and he’d deleted it. Or maybe it’s the Mandela effect.
One thing that often tips a team’s interest in certain players is when their scouts are continually seen at the player’s games, that could be overlooked in O’Brien’s case since the Hawks scouts would already be closely monitoring Lardis and Vanacker’s progress. He plays with Lardis and Vanacker and yet his name has never come up once among Hawks insiders
If they liked him that much, I feel like we'd know
that video is here for those that want to see itRoumeliotis kind've hinted at the Blashill press conference that Hawks fans should pay more attention to Desnoyers and Frondell and not Hagens and Martone when it comes to the Hawks
Nazar-BedardPronman compares Caleb to Hischier (He's about 65 points a year) on the most recent podcast on the Athletic . 2 way high character Center , seems to be a fit in Kyle's plans.
Have there been any players they've (upper management) scouted in-person this spring. IIRC during the Dach year they were at a lot of his playoff games. One thing that often tips a team’s interest in certain players is when their scouts are continually seen at the player’s games, that could be overlooked in O’Brien’s case since the Hawks scouts would already be closely monitoring Lardis and Vanacker’s progress.
How about this:Nazar-Bedard
Desnoyers-2026 1st
Could get behind it...ideally Nazar and Desnoyers are 65-70 point centers that can play a really good two way game and it would allow Bedard and another high end offense first forward to be your game breaking 100 point players. The Toews/Kane recipe that worked in a lot of important games during the cup runs.
bring McKenna homeHow about this:
McKenna - Bedard
Desnoyers - Nazar
I am going to try and speak it into existence!
