Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

Lol, what is that worth?
Not much beyond seeing what the alleged consensus is floating around the internet. It looked at various prospect rating's lists and the blackhawks needs.

Does Charlie Roumeliotis ever have good draft info?

Watched a YouTube interview of him from yesterday where he says “I know Porter Martone and James Hagens are probably gonna get the most attention” wonder if he’s referring to fan attention or from the Blackhawks?

He called Frondell and Desnoyers “sleeper” options for fans to keep an eye on.

Hawks media all usually have the same info. It flows pretty quickly throughout the city.

Basically every non-Chicago based outlet has either Hagens or Martone going to the Gawks because they’re deemed the best players at that spot.

The Chicago media is basically hinting (they know) that the Hawks are leaning towards taking a bigger center at 3.

I think Scott Powers has good info on players that they have drafted and if/when they will sign. I think that is from developing relationships with those players and their agents.

But I'm pretty sure it's Frank Seravalli that gets all of the scoops from KD. Everyone else is just kind of meh in terms of actual information that comes out.

It's gonna be Desnoyers or Frondell 100% , the only question is which one

Martone is a slower winger and Hagens is too redundant for our system

I honestly hate this draft. I wouldnt be surprised if in 8 years no star forwards come out of the top 10 and the best player is drafted at like 25th or something. Really wish there was a Fantilli, Barkov level prospect here

Hagens is too redundant but a large portion of this board (and Hawks fans in general) wanted Demidov instead of Levshunov last year.

If you had told me last year that we're going to pick Levshunov over Demidov and get Hagens the following year, that'd have been a dream scenario.

What the hell prospect pool are they looking at?

Hagens would instantly be best prospect we have if drafted

Honestly he is guy I am leaning into taking at #3 if there because his upside is among highest in draft and he is safe bet to at least hit his floor (Top 6 guy)

If Misa falls for some reason, you run up to podium for him but if he isn't there than yeah Hagens is next best option

If Hawks are looking to reach then they better trade down instead of wasting #3 overall

I don't even know that he's all that redundant. Our forward group isn't one that can ignore a 1st overall talent just because his frame isn't 90th percentile. It's not like he plays a small game or isn't a tough battle defensively. He shades a bit toward the perimeter, but he gets into the slot plenty and finds open ice with ease.

Calling Hagens a 1st overall talent is an exaggeration

I'm not scared of Hagens at all. I suppose we can get some size/snarl at the Leafs pick or 34. Spence or Nestrasil perhaps?? There's a kid in Moose Jaw too whose name escapes me. I think it's safe to stay away from D&G early and load up up front.

The guy topped a fair amount of lists this very calendar year, while hanging in second to Schaefer on the bulk of the rest above the exploding Misa on the bulk of the rest. He's as talented as anyone in this draft, skates extremely well and works hard in his own zone. Classic microscope, couch scouting has been harder on him than any other prospect in this class, but he still put up a PPG as one of the youngest kids in the NCAA while tasked with pivoting a top line.

Hagens has as strong a chance to be the best player from this class as anyone.
