2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Who should we pick 3rd overall (assuming Schaefer and Misa are gone)?

Bear is much more highly coveted by the guys that make the big bucks. Bottom 6 is not their expectations of him.

Potter is the classic under sized speedy winger with low IQ you throw out there to get the energy back in the playoffs. An energy bottom 6 buzzsaw
Bear has injury concerns.

Potter is not a low IQ player.

Will probably be a popular galaxy brain mock in the coming weeks. Until we hear something new from Powers or someone similarly connected I wouldn't put any stock in something that has them taking anyone but Martone, Desnoyers, or Frondell (or Misa/Schaefer obviously)
I don't know how Frondell is even in the conversation when he's not even the best draft eligible on his own line

I still want Martone at 3. Move up from 25 to somewhere between 16-19 and pick Malcolm Spence. Pick Ihs-Wozniak at 34. That's three forwards with some size, which we lack.

Just saying, nearly no one was talking about Desnoyers until I posted my highlight video a few pages back. Now look at you all, totally in love with him.

I’m like the reverse Musto, everyone loves my guy and respects my opinion. Funnel any more draft/prospect questions my way and I’ll set it straight for you

Doing this while, as Musto describes it, ”struggling to make passes” is certainly very impressive

Hopefully we grab some big bodied gritty types instead of moving up(pkg 2nd's) in draft for speedy midgets. Mason Marchment types are needed for playoff runs .

Listen, I don’t dislike Frondell and would be fine with him at 3. (Although I like others more)

However, his tracking data on EP isn’t very good at all, especially compared to Eklund.

There are absolutely reasons to be skeptical of Frondells production.

I know and I also see the concerns with Frondell but some people take it way too far, hence the ”struggling to make passes” citation

How did I prove your point? Him being ahead of several of the expected top picks at p/60 while playing in a top 10 league in the world while they play against future chefs is crazy impressive
None of those players, except McQueen, is ranked ahead of Frondell on my board

So not much of a "gotcha" moment, is it?

lol, the CHL has a lot of great players in it, most of them are draft picks in the NHL. Marcus Kruger would have a tough time in the CHL at his age/situation.
