2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Blackhawks land #1 and San Jose say falls to #3 what would you accept for pick swap? #3 and Eklund or Musty? #3, pick swap in 2026 option? like what would they have that they would give up to make it worthwhile knowing we also have no shot then to get 2026 #1ova because we moved up
To give up BOTH Schaefer AND Misa, it would have to be #3OA, Musty, a right to swap '26 1st (giving us a couple shots at McKenna) the Edmonton '26 1st for #1OA and '26 Toronto 2nd. In other words an NFL draft style trade that is not all that likely.

I like Chernyshov more than Musty. I think your deal is way too rich. SJ isn't giving up a clear best shot at McKenna (they suck) plus all that other stuff. They could be trading pick #1 for pick #4-10. That would be a disaster.

I couldn't tell you why Frondell got ahead of him, but Misa and Martone simply had better seasons.

For Misa he elevated even further in the second half.

I think Martone's production dipped slightly in the second half, but he still capped things off with a great showing in the playoffs.

All of that while Hagens stayed the same and didn't improve in any facet.

I understand you have Martone above Frondell but Martone did in no way have a better season than Anton Frondell.

Yeah thats true. Just more soft, undersized wingers. I don't like Hagens. People like the Cooley comp but Cooley has a small amount of prick to him. Hagens has zero. He makes business decisions.
Hagens is way too involved over 200 feet for Skinner to be a good comp imo. I see Robert Thomas with a less projectable frame.

I get not liking the fit for us though

Is my top 10 right now.

As much as I love Eklund, staying in the top 2 tonight would make things so much easier.

That's a funny way to describe his game, but I agree.

Cooley experimented a lot. Which more often than not was to his detriment, but it allowed him to grow into the player he is today.

Hagens doesn't experiment or try anything new. I would bet that in practice he only works on the things he's already good at.

I was being a bit facetious. I just don’t like Hagens.
I still do but I have a feeling you won’t need to worry about him being an option. He’s the one guy that hasn’t been mentioned by anyone as being on their radar.

Martone to Penn State looking very likely after Luke Misa (his linemate) committed this morning. Saw a tweet that said theres rumors of Penn State putting ~$250K on the table for him

Ha it means he's soft Musto.

Never thought I’d see a quarter million in NCAA hockey for one season .
