Where did you get that Barkov was a good skater?? That was one of the area that he needed to improve and he did!! Also havent heard that Frondell is bad skater and he isnt that old for this draft!! He has plenty of room and time to improve!!

Will he, only time will tell!?

Yeah Barkov was on a different level as a prospect. Its honeslty crazy to me Frondell is getting this level of hype.

Barkov comp is insulting. Frondell's defense is not at all on that level, and he plays a much more hitting, setting up for one timers/close to the net shots, doesn't drive the play like Barkov at all.

I think it's just the new trend. Bigger kid that plays center and has some defensive ability? Instantly gets compared to Barkov by the hype hunter Buttons of the world. Helps that he's Scandinavian as well.

I think Frondell is a W at the next level, or at the least not a surefire C whatsoever. His game lends to better results on W. And he's showing the same weaknesses at the u18 like all year - not much play driving, not the best playmaking, slow skating.

There is 0, 0% chance KD/D would value a profile like that over someone like Misa who is their literally style personified to a T.

I'm getting carried away a little bit, but this Frondell self driving hype bus is crazy to me. Again, good prospect but not in the top 5 ever.

Frondell really isn't a great skater. He's fine, not bad... but definitely not going to blow you away.

He can win board battles and get open for shots, but offense doesn't flow through him. His playmaking is mediocre, and he doesn't have finesse puck skills. Which is why he'll probably play wing and have someone at center who can create space and find him when he's open.

Does that work for a team that has players like Bedard and Nazar? Sure.

Is that what you want at 3rd or 4th overall? I don't.

I see more upside with Martone, Potter, Hagens, McQueen, Smith, Eklund, and Desnoyers. That's how far down I have Frondell.

I didnt say Frondell is as good a prospect as Barkov was! Or even think they are comperable! Just talked about boths skating. I'm team Misa if Hawks get 2OA, but if Hawks drop to 4OA wouldnt rule out Frodell.

Who said anything about great skater?? Not me!? Like you said he is fine and can improve it most likely like Barkov did!! You said Barkov was better skater but that isnt true.

We all have players we like, but if Hawks like Frondell I trust them!! Also what draft position Hawks get will influense the player picked!!

I actually think you could argue most of these guys but you've gone way too far with Potter.

Frondell is built like Barkov in terms of their strengths and physical build, but he is worse at about everything. Frondell is shorter, less defensively responsible, less dominant skill , and physically dominant. Frondell has a much better shot though. The way he is built and the strength he has shown at such a young age is why a team will draft him high. Frondell has a long ways to go in his development even if he is one of the stronger players in the draft. Hed be a fun choice

Martone would be a fun pick as well. He is smart, dangerous, and a great playmaker. He always thinks ahead of the play. The pace of play and defensive responsibility are the only issues. His skating isnt dynamic, but thats not what you draft him for

I didn't mean you, but he's drawing Barkov comparisons in mainstream media even, which I think is just lazy work on their part. He will by all accounts be in the convo at 4 although we will see when the draft gets here for real, but in the top 5, I would always go for higher ceiling than his safer high floor type.

Cristall continuing to pile up a shit ton of points in junior doesn’t change anything. Everyone knew he was more than capable of that.

Same situation as Perreault. Questions were always about whether or not their games are translatable to the NHL level. No point in doing victory laps now considering that question is awhile out from being answered for Cristall

I don't mind that the KD and Doneghey have stuck to traits that they think are easier to project even if it means missing out on some players, at least they have an identity in the draft, one can debate whether they should have a higher weight on other things like absolute production etc that might land them on a Cristall, but at least they're being consistent year to year in how the curate their player pool

Just because you hate "not your guys" with passion doesnt mean others do the same!!! You are projectin your own feelings and thought process to others!!

Also how about you run down players you were totally wrong about before patting yourself on the back for the rare case you might be right (not even confirmed yet)!

You still have that bad habbit of wanting to be able to brag about beeing right!! Why is that so important to you?? Seems childish!?!?
