I feel pretty good with those 3 forwards. frondell has the most size, Misa is maybe the most well rounded and Hagen's probably has the highest ceiling. I do not know much about martone (a bit slow) eklund (a bit small) and desoyners. for me I feel like tiers go 1, 3, 3, the only issue I have ever heard about frondell is his pace. But it feels like being a may 07 Bday that missed some ice time end of last year early this year is he needs to build up more strength and get a bit more Fit. His skating looks mechinally solid so I think its just that he was off skates for 6 months and is 17 year old 200lb kid. IE its his first 2-3 steps. in comparison STrome looks like he is quick sand on the first step and the 7th.So your top three are ? Is it possible to pass on Schaefer ?
I think we won't get the chance to pass on him as the Sharks will take him.
So ...top three.. Misa, Hagens, Frondell..
Surely everyone is aware of the draft lottery by now.Does anyone realize how small the odds of are that the Sharks will actually pick first and the Blackhawks will actually pick second?
If the Hawks aren't picking 1st, I think you seriously consider trading the pick
And if they are 1st (which would mean winning the lotto), I think you seriously consider trading next year's pick

Whoever they pick in the 2-4 slot is sure to become the Hawks best forward prospect. If they could get an NHL ready forward with the same upside I guess it makes sense but I'm not sure why any other team would do that.If the Hawks aren't picking 1st, I think you seriously consider trading the pick

Misa, Hagens, Eklund, Desnoyers, Frondell, Martone would all give us something we are missing (along with question marks sure) and elevate/compliment the guys on the roster eventually.
I'm at a point where I trust the FO drafting, so Ill be happy wherever this thing goes.
Sorenson was added to team sweden IIHF world championships as a coach I wonder if Frondell will be on the team? its 5/9 thru 5/25
what's crazier is the sharks were selected 3 times in a row last year before the blackhawks took number 2. what are the odds of that?Does anyone realize how small the odds of are that the Sharks will actually pick first and the Blackhawks will actually pick second?
You draft him yourself if you're 1st. You don't move the pick.If Hawks are 1st this year you listen to offers from teams considering moving up for Schaefer or you draft him yourself
Even with our D strength it seems very potentially haunting to pass on talent like that
For what return?
Andrei Svechnikov.For who?
If Ottawa still sucked Brady Tkachuk maybe, but that’s not likely to be an option with them being a playoff team now. Not to mention I’m not sure he’s going to waive to get out of Ottawa to go to a terrible Chicago team anyway.
With everyone getting huge cap raises I’m just not seeing any big names getting moved.
Maybe a disgruntled American playing in Canada? Can’t really think of any in that regard that would be worth a top 4 pick.
I hardly know anything about next year's draft class.Whoever they pick in the 2-4 slot is sure to become the Hawks best forward prospect. If they could get an NHL ready forward with the same upside I guess it makes sense but I'm not sure why any other team would do that.
Do you think next year's draft is ass outside of Mckenna? The Hawks are almost surely picking top 10 again.
It's funny cause if you look at Montreal : Lane Hutson : 5.7, Cole Caufield : 5.7, Nick Suzuki : 5.9. Brendan Gallagher : 5.7 and then there's like four or five others all like 5.9 ish as well. The Montreal Smurfians!I really think the size issue is significant for the Hawks more so than most other teams based on so many of their current and future top-6 guys - Bedard, Nazar, Moore, Lardis, Kantserov - all under 6'. The bigger guys in the pipeline - Boisvert, Vanacker, Pridham, and a couple others are all projected to be middle-6 guys, at best, with none of them projected as top-line at this point in their development. Therefore I would eliminate Hagens and Eklund from consideration because they are sub-6' guys, Add one of Misa, Martone, Frondell or Desnoyers to the group of Boisvert, Vanacker, Pridham and hope one from that group develops into a top-line guy that is also not sub-6'.
about 1.66%, or 1 in 60.what are the odds of that?
I could see Boisvert on a top line at wing. he has a great shoot. Kane was a 2nd line player in his day. the issue is in the top 6 you need lines that work together. if bedard is a top line guy it has to have some size and shooting from the others. bedard also needs guys that are good Def.I really think the size issue is significant for the Hawks more so than most other teams based on so many of their current and future top-6 guys - Bedard, Nazar, Moore, Lardis, Kantserov - all under 6'. Not that I can talk being 5.8!![]()
