2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

And they would need to pass us in points. Tiebreakers would put us at 31st if it comes down to it.

The Sharks lost 8-7 last night. EIGHT f***ING SEVEN.

How in the f*** could a team outtank a team that scores seven f***ing goals and STILL loses? Who the f*** is their goaltender, a wooden board with multiple holes in it?

It's beyond comical at this point.

Eight to f***ing seven.

Interesting. I definitely don't see it that way. Can you explain?
Misa is an exceptional player at beating defenses, creating space for HIMSELF, and bringing competitiveness to every shift. He's also better than Hagens off the puck, but I have concerns about picking him in the top two; I don't like his passing ability, playmaking game is just above average, his skating is at least as good as Hagens's, and above all, his 60 goals in the OHL aren't translatable to professional hockey, IMO. Misa is capable of producing with his mobility, positioning, transition, and off-puck game, but Hagens is more aware of the game (he detects his teammates very quickly), has better hands, is a better playmaker, and his game in front net is very underrated.

If we draft Misa I'll be happy anyway, but in pick 1 or 2 I have other favorites that make me more excited.

Your english is fine. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Always good to get another perspective. I think the goal scoring will translate and while I agree Hagens is the better playmaker, I think part of why Misa plays the way he does is that is what Saginaw is asking him to do. Hagens just is soft skill to me and I worry he will be too easily pushed to playing perimeter hockey, which happened to him against some of the older teams in college this year.

I think they forgot to put the wooden board in the goal!!

I'd love to see Blackhawks somehow grab Brady Martin with our 2nd pick. Dangle Kurashev, Reichel and draft picks to get the job done Kyle !! He hit's a ton and is a winner, people comparing his style to a hard hitting version of Mike Richards . Seems to be projecting around 12th .

I realize it's not edgy to say, but I am fine with whoever we pick. I have been thoroughly impressed with the drafting so far in KD's regime, and so I will give the benefit of the doubt to whoever they pick.

Right? Picks are looking very promising at least as the early signs are showing:

2022:

1: Korchinski - some questions, but in the mix
1: Nazar - homerun
1: Rinzel - homerun

2: Ludwinski - weak pick it's looking like
2: Greene - likely NHL player
3: Hayes - not looking that good
3: Savoie - likely NHL player
3: Thompson - likely NHL player
6: James - could be something

6: Juntorp
7: Tohila

2023:

1: Bedard - homerun
1: Moore - looking very good

1: Gajan - questions, but also very early
2: Kantserov - looking very good
2: Misiak - maybe something?
3: Lardis - homerun
4: Felcman
4: Pharand
5: Marcel
6: Oscarson
7: Peltonen

2024:

1: Levshunov - homerun
1: Boisvert - looking very good
1: Vanacker - looking good imo, but some qs
3: Mustard - looking good
3: Spellacy - looking good
3: Pridham - looking great

5: Svensson
6: Henry

Picks in the first 3 rounds are very looking good. I'm happy with what 16 our of those 20 picks are showing. That's not bad.

Late round selections might not be a strength though, no real surprised standing out yet. Can't really expect any continued success there though, but they might have to shift a little their late round strategy.

Absolutely f***ing terrible hahaha.. I mean the Hawks have been BADDDD these past few years but f*** there are goaltenders in beer leagues across the world that would be better than what the Sharks have in net.

Scoring 7 goals and still losing is preposterous.

What is even more mind boggling is you just keep going with the same goalie as if you don't have one on the bench as they let in 2 out of every 10 shots they are seeing on the night.

Well said. I'd go as far to say all of Misa, Frondell, Hagens, and Desnoyers are very close to each other. Martone and Eklund not too far from that cluster. Schaefer is the slam dunk pick at 1 from what I've seen

Frondell lacks pace..some scouts think more suited to powrr winger than a Center....But he is only 6'0...

Ran Tankathon NHL Draft Simulator again before the4th remaining game (vs.Bruins.)..this is thev7th attempt in what began as a final ten game countdown...the prior results were 4 3rd pick slot...1 4th slot and 1 1st slot in the draft order after lotto

Resukt of this 7th attempt at the Sim was another 3rd pick

So now 5 thirds, 1 4th and 1 only 1st pick result.
..still no staying in place at #2....

3 more lotto sim attempt still to go before regulation season ends after 3 more games of this final countdown...

It started to become clear to GMMG late last year that the Sharks were going to win more games than the Blackhawks and that this would jeopardize the tank, so he actually traded BOTH our goalies (a decent starter and an ok backup) and replaced them with the then rank 55th goalie in the league in Georgiev (probably rank 64 now or something, so not starter caliber, not backup caliber, but he'd be one of the best 2nd backups in the league). The other goalie is literally an AHL vet callup. So to answer your question, yes the Sharks ice small wooden boards with beachball-sized holes as goalies.
