2025 NHL DRAFT Thread

Based on how each team is trending, I wouldn't be shocked to see us finish last.

I think the Hawks make or break being dead last based on what they do against Pittsburgh with the home and home they have coming up with them Sunday/Tuesday.

Lose both in regulation and I have a good feeling they end up dead last.

Hawks close out the season with 4 of their final 5 games being on the road. We all know they're bad, but I didn't realize just how bad they are on the road.

Road record - 7-24-5
Home record - 14-20-4

is the tie breaker RW if that is the case its 14 to 18 with the hawks having more . ROW is closer 18 to 20 in hawks favor. unless SJ goes on a streak I assume we will lose the tie breaker. we have 5 away 3 home they are 4 and 4.

Here is a weird rules question. So say the hawks move up to 1, which would be the 2nd time in 5 years, so they couldn't move up in 26. Does the move up only matter to the Hawks in 26 or say we trade the 26 pick can the team who gets the hawks move up?

If that team could move up, that may add a lot of value to the team acquiring the pick if they want a lotto ticket for McKeena. Especially if we signed some talent in FA and feal we may finish outside top 5 (with no ability to move up) do we trade that unprotected pick for maybe a your ready to go talent?

If Chicago moves up this year, that negates their ability to move up in 2026.

Even if they trade the pick, it is ineligible to move up because it is originally the Blackhawks pick.

Whenever they do the lottery drawings, even if the pick has been traded or has protection, they assign the picks to the original owners.

Like whenever you see the cards flipping over, they never have the logo for the team that acquired the pick. Always the original.

As far as I know the “can’t move up more than 2 times in five years, not can’t win the lottery more than twice”has beeen the fans interpretation of the rules since it’s hasn’t actually been enforced.

Does make me wonder if it’s actually the spirit of the rule and whether the league would change the wording say if we were to finish last and win the lotto this season, to take us out of the running for 2026

Noticed today that the Blackhawks are guaranteed bottom three finish…can’t catch Seattle or Boston who have 68 and 69 pts, so it’s between them San Jose and Nashville for last place

I mean in theory they could catch Nashville but they're not going to make up 11 points in 8 games.

Have the Hawks had a stretch of 12 points in 8 games at any point over the last 2 years?

They started March with 8 points in 5 games. I'm pretty sure that's the closest they've come this year. Someone else can do last season lol looking back at this season was depressing enough.

Yeah his draft stock will drop, and he will be on plenty of DND lists with his back situation

Someone in later part of 1st will take risk (Worth risk at that spot) but I cant see him going in top 15 at this point

How about that Desnoyers guy? What I´ve know he plays the game like a pro and has really good habits. He is having a strong start in Q´s playoffs with 2+6 in 4 games. Could he be someone to look at fourth pick if pingpong balls falls in that slot.
