Nope. We’re drafting top 3 and he’s not close to that conversation.I feel like the Hawks would love Desnoyers
I dont think he's as far off as you might think. GM's love his type, there are genuine question marks around players after Misa. I think he's one of those who's higher on internal GM rankings than fan/analyst rankings.Nope. We’re drafting top 3 and he’s not close to that conversation.
Yeah any GM who has him over Misa needs to be fired. I do agree with you that plenty of GMs make stupid decisions and fall in love with future 35-40 point players like Caleb because of intangibles.I dont think he's as far off as you might think. Also we can pick top 4
Like Kotkaniemi, Hayton going so high in their drafts. Just hope we pick 2 and dont have to deal with any of the bsYeah any GM who has him over Misa needs to be fired. Murtagh and McKinney are my 2 favorites in the late 1/early 2 rangeWho are we looking to get with the leafs pick and our own 2nd round pick ?
Gastrin, Murtagh, Wang, Moore, Amico, Wang, Trethewey, Nesbitt, Behm ? Does anybody have a favorite for
those two picks ?
The stars pick will be at the bottom of the 2nd..so I don't know if anybody has a favorite for
that pick.
Carter Bear - Big risk/reward due to the injury but that also means he could still be on the board. Reminds me a lot of Seth Jarvis
Yea, unfortunately that appears to be the case. Pretty sure Tuomo Ruutu had it as well. As I say, he's a risk for that reason, but the Hawks can shoulder some risk since we'll already have a top pick drafted and another pick in the early 2nd.Isn't that the same injury Peyton Krebs had his draft year? I think Erik Karlsson had the same one too (he was already well established in the NHL but his skating was never the same). That is a brutal injury for a hockey player.
Thank you. I just went on a mock draft site and put up some names from the late 20's to the early 40's.My favorites in those spots right now are
Cullen Potter - I know he has a lot of what we already have but damn he's talented. I'm a BPA guy to my soul.
Carter Bear - Big risk/reward due to the injury but that also means he could still be on the board. Reminds me a lot of Seth Jarvis
Michal Svrcek - Speedy, aggressive two way player
Ryker Lee - Wilmette product with a well-rounded game
Bill Zonnon - Good projectable center with a high hockey IQ
Cole McKinney - Likewise if you're looking for a solid player up the middle
Alexander Zharovsky - Raw (and I'm talking Pittsburgh rare) but exciting Russian winger who is being slept on a bit
Daniil Prokhorov - The rare giant who can not only skate but actually seems to know how to use his body
From the ones you mention, Gastrin is probably my choice. Those USA defenseman don't do much for me. Wang is more of a fun mid-late round swing but someone will take him oddly high like that year we drafted Simon Danis-Pepin (still going strong in the LNAH!).

I need Nashville, Seattle, Buffalo to go on some runs in order for me to feel comfortable. Anything less than #2 pick and this season is a disasterNashville won last night vs SJ, so they are now 8 points up on the Blackhawks. Buffalo 7 points up and playing a flailing Detroit team tonight.
Both Nashville and Buffalo pacing for around 73 points, which, with the Hawks at 49 with 17 games to play, would give plenty of cushion for a run of decent play by the young guys to end the season here.
There's still the lottery, and idk if the Hawks luck there will continue for a 3rd year. Kinda doubt it because they won a top 2 spot two seasons in a row.I need Nashville, Seattle, Buffalo to go on some runs in order for me to feel comfortable. For sure. 4th is statistically the most likely outcome of picks 1-4 after the lottery too. Wouldve been nice for Martone and Hagens to not have stalled in the second half of this seasonI’m fully expecting they pick 4th. I tend to agree that they’ve been very fortunate.
I donno… while best player available is ideal… between Schaefer injuries and the Hawks desperately needing a forward, I’d consider Misa firstSchaefer Misa Hagens Martone in order for Hawks.
I think Buffalo is the only team for the potential ones that might go Misa over Schaefer.
Schaefer's injury of a broken collarbone has virtually zero chance of having any impact going forward. He was Canada's most dynamic player in the game +part of a period and the pretourney games while Misa did not get selected for the WJC team. There is a significant gap between Schaefer and Misa as prospects. No guarantee one ends up better than the other in the long haul. I would be happy if we end up with Misa, but Schaefer should be the pick if we have a choice.I donno… while best player available is ideal… between Schaefer injuries and the Hawks desperately needing a forward, I’d consider Misa first
My hesitation with his injuries are less about his fragility and more about the limited viewings throughout the year. Sure....less than ideal viewing oppurtunities, but he played 17 games before the WJC break (pun intended), a full OHL season last year, U18/U17 team Canada stuff prior, and whatever scouts got to see to make him #1OA pick in the OHL draft.
