My way of slotting future lines night be something like this
Kantserov Bedard Lardis
Boisvert Vanacker
Nazar Moore Slaggert
Misiak Spellacy Savoie

Add in Dach , Safonov , Ludwinski , Greene , Reichel , Hayes , Thompson , James , Felcman , Pharand ,
Marcel , Mustard , Pridham . We definitely need some size up front .
I’m not going to pretend to know how lower round prospects work out and I strongly disagree that you can’t have 2 smaller players on a line.

I could however see a scenario where neither Bedard or Nazar are centers long term.
I’d like to see
Nazar, Boisvert or 25/1st, Bedard as a line.
Nazar isn’t big but doesn’t play small, he has a good shot and plays a tenacious, pesky style that will only improve as he develops “man muscles”.
Bedard’s puck skill is great but it’s his one timer and the ability to put it where he wants it that I’m in love with. With the right supporting cast he’s an Ovi like scorer.

Edited to point out Bedard plays on off side for shooting angle purposes.

2-3 and 4 centers? - the other of Boisvert or 25/1 - Greene and Moore.
Let the rest grow up some and slot them into the lineup where they fit.

Schaefer broke his collarbone last night. He’s been impressive enough that I still wouldn’t hesitate to take him at 1 but an injury like that could have implications (especially if Hagens takes off in the interim)

Man poor kid...

But if this means he could eventually be available at 2 or 3 OA, it could be big for us.

Broken collarbone pretty much never has a lasting impact.

Just watched the injury, and I have to say it seems pretty weird that he didn’t have the intuitive spacial instinct one would expect at this point for a top pick.

Oh I’m not worried at all about the injury long term. Missing that much time means smaller sample size for evaluations though. He already missed the start of the year with mono

I mean, even that play alone looked great. Blew past a dman and got himself a mini breakaway as a Dman. Looks like speed and killer instinct. What’s not to love?

If you think Schaefer projects as the next Makar or Hughes, then fine you have to take him.

But that’ll make Davidson’s life that much harder, because you can’t wait forever to acquire forward talent. He’ll have to get creative to get one another way.

Not too long ago the Tankathon mock had us with Martone, Potter, Guite, and, Wang (I guess the main recent change in their reading was Toronto's pick being moved out of range for Potter). Which I think roughly would be an awesome haul to bring in as a general group.

Martone to me at this point is the clear 4th from the top guys, and I think he's a level below the others.

His general lack of pace and intensity has me worried a little at NHL level. I mean not that he has bad intensity but for his pace I think you'd need better, he will have to work on that.

Schaefer is clear, but Hagens I'm starting to love as well. He has gamebreaking things about him, that package of puck handling, vision, deception and skating is rare to find.

Too bad Misa isn't at the tourny. He was my favorite of the forwards but Hagens is showing really strong.

Remember when some of us were worried that we were playing too good for a top 4 spot?

For me it's
Schaefer
Hagens
Misa
Martone

But I can go back and forth on Hagens and Misa.
This is my order too. Schaefer for me is a clear #1 and Hagens a clear #2. Martone thinks the game to slowly at this point to be in the conversation with those 2. I would not mind if we end up with Martone, as he would be a nice add to the prospect pool, but not if we are picking top 2-3.

Schaefer is still the guy you take at one. He's incredible.
You take Schaefer and run. The Hawks have no legit PP QB and no true #1 D in the pipeline. I doubt KK becomes a top pairing guy, Levshunov hopefully becomes a Brent Seabrook level of player, and Rinzel is a solid player, but unlikely to be a #1 guy

You got it wrong with Martone. He thinks the game fast, but his feet are slow. Martone is definitely moving more towards 3-5 range. Not really competing for 1 or 2 rn

I think you are too low on Levshunov. I am going to keep thinking he will be a number 1 until his growth slows.

It's Schaefer at 1 and Hagens at 2 for me as well.

I think it;s all going to depend on what team finds themselves picking at 1 to see if they take Schaefer there or not. I know that I want the Hawks to take him there if they wind up with the 1st selection.

That being said, I wouldn't exactly be disappointed if they ended up with Hagens, either.
