HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I think Habs are in a great position to take risks with certain players who may have lower floors but extremely high upside (Bear now due to his injury & Carbonneau)
McQueen if he slides?

It probably all depends on whether we trade one (or both) of our 1st round picks for a center. If we only have one 1st round pick, we may be less likely to take on a risky pick.

Bear will be, not sure I'd use an 11th on someone with an achilles injury.
If Calgary is at 11, long shot IMO

You bundle both picks and try to get into the top 6-7 assuming you're not using them for picks

We need quality, not quantity
Do whatever it takes to get a center from this draft even if you sign/trade for one

IF both of O,brien and Martin are available with our first pick,, who do you pick ?

That's a hard one for me.

Very tough. I think it's far likelier Martin would be available than O'Brien at this point, and I do have the latter ahead on my limited list, but I have time for Martin's case on the Habs team construction.

OHL playoffs will definitely paint a canvas.

I see one of them NYI, PITT , BOSTON trading back.

Exemple :

NYI #12
for
MTL : #16 + #49

PITT #7 + #64
for
MTL #16 + #17

Boston #8 + #52
for
MTL : #16 +#17

People picking in the Desnoyers/Frondell range aren't going to be trading back into the teens. Those teams need quality too.

Martin. Don't need a right shot perimeter playmaker in O'Brien.

O’Brien has elite vision/passing and can score in many ways.

Martin has been one of my favorite player to watch through the year and I think he would fit well with the habs.
