HF Habs: 2025 NHL Draft: Part II

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

How do we feel about Hagens' chances of going 1OA at this point?

I think the field at -230 looks compelling 3 and change months out from the draft.

Feel free to edit this if mentioning odds isn't appropriate, not sure of rules.

Hagens won't go 1 OA.

Schaefer will go and if it's not Schaefer, Misa is in the flagpole position at 2.

Hagens will go 3 or 4 depending on who is picking there.

I think Misa has a much better chance than Hagens. I'd take him over Schaefer as well. Going to watch him pot his 60th on Friday.

I would think 0 chance he goes 1st OA but I'm not a huge fan.

I tend to agree. It's a limited market but this isn't reflected in any odds yet.

Really appreciate all your clips this year.

HuGo…toss the fellow an invite. Or spend a late pick.

This kid has been grinding from Day 1 of his junior career. Was pumped to be a ninth-round take and has worked like a son of gun chasing the dream.

Now, this year, he has been cashing in his chances. Kid deserves a shot.

Would be nice addition to The Rocket and I’d bet the farm he would work his butt off, Xhekaj style.

Note: He’s big enough.

Overage junior though. Numbers look good must be his reaction time. Because he should be a beast playing against kids. He's 21 and 6'5, 225lbs.

I know Montreal likes to take players with a long development time or at least varied development times when drafting.

They should take Zachary Morin (Saint John Sea Dogs, QMJHL) with one of their 3rd round picks. We have three 3rd rounders.

He's committed to Boston University for 2026-2027, so it looks like the plan is to play 2 years Q then NCAA. That gives us like 4-5 years to evaluate. BU is a good program, too.

Button has him ranked #35, which is too high, imo. Bobby Mac has him #76, which is early 3rd round.

Currently, we have back-to-back picks in 3rd round #79 (our own) & #80 (Vancouver).

Smaller players, crushing the BCHL, could have a longer development time as he's scheduled to go to the NCAA in 26-27. Should be good to put up points and could be a nice addition later in the draft to be used as a trade piece, or potentially plays better than expected and becomes a potential future piece for the Habs.

Could be worth the gamble in the later rounds.

He should either start NCAA next year, or play in a better league either WHL or USHL. No point going back to BCHL when you're already at 2 ppg or close to it.

Could be a nice guess in the mid/late rounds but at 5'7 I hope his skating is at the very least 8/10. Anybody can comment on his skating?

Would still rather bet on him than some guy with a 4th line ceiling obviously.
