a center with our earlier pick yes. But the other one you go BPA available. Carbonneau will be a good candidate with that pick.Hope we take centers with our picks. Carbonneau good player but top 6 centers near impossible to acquire. A number of them will be available.
A lot. What would you be willing to give up at a shot for someone like Caleb Desnoyers?
I expect to see some Habs scout at this game
The important one, probably since they where in MTL for the TDL yesterdayBy some you mean all of them?
I’m genuinely expecting all of them: lapointe, bobrov, boisvert and audette (regional). Considering they are also in town I would be shocked if lecavalier Hughes and Gorton wouldn’t be there also. The important one, probably since they where in MTL for the TDL yesterday
A lot.
All of our picks
There is no doubt in mind that Anaheim takes Caleb if he available when they speak. If we want him we 100% have to jump them one way or another.I was at Moncton v Boisbriand. I didn't get to spot Bobrov and co, but I did spot Martin Madden Jr. He sure love the Q. Came out impressed by Villeneuve.
Jack Nesbitt is a good one to keep an eye on. He probably will be picked higher than people think in that draft.
6’4 left shot center
He is playing 3rd line minutes behind more experienced guys and net front on the PP and he still around PPG which is good.Big & physical with a huge growth in his offensive game over last year. He's 1st round for sure.
Yes. But will they have the power of friendship in the room?Boston will draft Desnoyers. He will be Bergeron 2.0. I can see it coming
What about trading some of those 2nd and 3rd rounders to move up? Sure keep two shots in the 8-20 range. But would be nice if we could sneak back into the lat first somehow.I'm excited about our quantity of picks because teams have been unpredictable lately. All of 22/23/24 saw some combination of off the board (Nemec, Carlsson, Reinbacher) or shocking (Simashev, But, Sennecke) picks that led to unexpected opportunities in the 8-15 range.
With consecutive Calder candidates in the oven, what follows from here is putting our version of a top D (Hedman/Pietrangelo/Makar/Theodore), a secondary guy (Toews/Forsling/Luostrainen/Parayko) and some versatile scoring (Point/Bennett/Verhaeghe/Schenn/Oshie/Wilson) profiles in place.
That part will always require trial & error and the # of picks we've accumulated will help in that pursuit.
As a result, I'm not generally a fan of trading up. If the right deal presents itself - sure.
Otherwise, in almost any draft year, I think that kind of move is tacitly accepting that your scouting budget is wasted capex / negative alpha.
Not really much sense. What to keep your darts. Unless you can get in top 16ish. From 18-20 to 50, not much difference in skill. Draft drops off fast after 16-18. Not a deep draftWhat about trading some of those 2nd and 3rd rounders to move up? Sure keep two shots in the 8-20 range. But would be nice if we could sneak back into the lat first somehow.
