2025 NHL Draft: Lose a ton for Porter Martone

I'm starting to lean towards Misa first. I really like Hagens, but he is well below what I expected. I know a lot of people are desperate for a franchise defender, but given everything that's happened with Schaeffer so far, I'm still not convinced and I'm currently starting to have a hard time not choosing Misa first.
What impresses me most about Misa is that in addition to his high-level skill set, he has incredible versatility. He started the season flying low in goals and some skeptics said he created less than expected, but in reality it was the team that needed him to be more of a goalscorer, as the season progressed and his teammates started to score, he began to play more of a playmaking role, especially after Chernyshov arrived. Currently second in goals and assists in the league. What a player!
I believe he is the key piece to complete the Sharks attack. How insane will the next 10 years be with Celebrini, Misa, Smith, Eklund

For what it's worth, I've looked at some scouting evaluations of Chernyshov from before the last draft and everyone seems to think that his skating is good. I think it's just a consequence of being off the ice for so long and should resolve as he gets back in better shape.

It must be. The worst grade I could find was "average" pretty much.

He looks pretty fast here. Hopefully the injury didn't permanently compromise his speed.

He has the wheels. Grier even had said his skating was good. Hopefully will just naturally get better as he gets back into game shape. Good player though. Impressed with him. Reminds me of Mark Stone with how he moves (not great but workable) and thinks the game. Obviously the odds he actually gets to Mark Stone level of player are super low but he was a great find at #33.

I'm curious what gems we'll uncover with our likely 28th and 33th picks. Or will Grier move up from there to grab another Dickinson that falls on their lap?

Could maybe package and get into the 16/17 range, but I still expect to see one of those picks moved for NHL help next year.

Donn't forget Igor Chernyshov and Michael Misa are teammates at Saginaw. If the Sharks take Misa, they'll have instant chemistry.

I would truly be shocked if the Dallas pick isn’t moved for a youngish Dman.

I’m sort of expecting it to be packaged with the 2nd to move up and take someone like Fiddler but there should be options. I’m really hoping we sign Kovacevic to play with either Schaefer or Dickinson.

My guess is it depends on whether they're able to add another 2nd for Ferraro.

I doubt that Grier wants to move 33 as there is almost always value there that falls. You can either get a guy that slides, or you can move it for potentially extra value to a team eager/desperate after Night 1.

I still think the most likely outcome is the Dallas pick is moved for immediate help. That look on Macklin's face losing Thursday night can't continue. With Smith looking better, you have to start establishing some winning culture very soon.

Maybe. I’d like them to prioritize improving the Sharks but I’m hoping it can be done without moving these picks.
