This will be real interesting to see how long Schaefer is out hopefully it’s not too bad but this definitely could lower his stock a bit. Also Martone was benched for the whole third period in Canada’s game vs Latvia crazy upset there. Really feel Team Canada could have used a Michael Misa who I also feel should be picked above Martone.

I personally see it as a top 3 that could go in any order, I prefer Schaefer for the Sharks but Misa would be my next option then Hagens. Martone is 4th for me

I would choose Hagens and wouldn't look back, he's just as (if not) more complete than Misa, but he's more dynamic and has a freakish hockey IQ. I would go with Hagens, firstly because the forwards will be developed faster and the Sharks could be a faster contender and secondly because if Smith becomes the center we expect, just turn him into an elite 3C and have the best 1-2-3 (Imagine Celebrini-Hagens-Smith, total madness) from the league. If not, put him on Celebrini's wing, put Eklund with Hagens and fill in with beefy wings. And on defense spend everything you have to acquire a superior pair to join Dickson and Mukh

Hes also basically a year older than Misa, so its to be expected. I really hate how the NHL does the draft with the cut off in september. I get why but it sucks when you have these prospect comparisons and you get people posting D-1 stats like they are comparable. Its why i prefer Misa/Schaefer to Hagens/Martone

Is their season almost over, that's probably 6 weeks depending on the how it snapped. Id rather that than shoulder damage
Yeah, having recovered from a broken clavicle and AC joint separation at the same time, and talked to others with the same injury, he'll probably be able to play within 8 weeks but he'll be regaining strength for a year. Not a fun injury but much better than shoulder issues.

It won't drop him out of the top 4 but it very well might slow down the 1OA hype train, especially if Hagens keeps looking better and better.

We really can't go wrong with the top 4.
At the end of the day, whomever is taken first overall it’s gonna be because a team wants a franchise D-man or a franchise Center.

Also, others have said, but... Can you imagine if we didn't win the lottery? Sounds like Levshunov is doing just okay in the AHL at 10 points in 28g and "solid" if unspectacular. I continue to be a doubter. Demidov seems to be doing well but I'm not sure that would have been Grier's choice at 2/3. We would be hurting as a franchise without Macklin, and desperate for 1OA and Hagens this year.
