Jason Bukala releases his Top 40 sandwiched right between the CHL-USA Prospect Challenge and the upcoming World Juniors
40 is right around were Utah's 2nd round pick could land for us.
I am pretty sure they gave us Toronto's 2nd rd pick
Pyotr Andreyanov is betterI think this is the year to go after a high end goalie prospect. Ravensbergen should be the target and he should be there in the late first. I'd trade up with our two 2nds if possible. The timeline lines up, he should be NHL ready in about 4 years when Vasi (sadly) is just about done.
An unranked, 6'0 goalie playing in a russian junior league? It's a matter of opinion, but I disagree.Pyotr Andreyanov is better
.945 SV% in the MHL. FC Hockey has him ranked #48. European Pro route >>>>>>>>>>> CHL route for goalies. We'll see if Ravensbergen goes to the NCAA under the new rules, but that's my reasoning. An unranked, 6'0 goalie playing in a russian junior league? It's a matter of opinion, but I disagree.
Like pretty much every year, the scouts are enamored of the 2025 crop of talent available in the top 10. Actually, make that the top 15. Beyond that, though, the consensus seems to be that the class of 2025 lacks depth of talent.
One scout went so far as to say a lot of the players who will be drafted in the bottom half of the first round would in prior years be better suited to being second-round picks.
“It’s all relative of course,” the scout said, “but I’d say the second rounders this year would be third rounders in previous years where there was greater depth.”
Vansaghi is an intriguing power forward project. Could really pop off at State after Howard & Stramel are gone.Chiclets U did a feature on Michigan State, including a cameo from Howard. But their captain Red Savage spoke pretty highly of Shane Vansaghi who I think is projected as a late 1st or early 2nd. He's intriguing.
