Because of the good handling of the draft(keeping our picks, some luck, and timely action(Wallstedt, Buium)), we are once again in a position to pick BPA. We could use a depth Dman with size- especially a RHD. Not feeling real great about what we have down in the farm. It sure is nice to have two young top 2D players/prospects in Buium and Faber already, and allows us to not reach for a D prospect. Since both Buium and Faber are vg with the puck, we don't want to go for an average sized PMD, either. More of a bruiser with size, like that Vlasic in CHI. Bogo and Middleton won't last forever, though there is still a lot of tread left on Middleton's tires.

I would also be fine with a C, or a scoring wing.

Have a feeling we’re trading our first this year
Unless the guy he mentioned starts putting up offense, I'd be surprised if that matters. 32nd out of all OHL players probably puts him in the 3rd-4th round.

*edit* Wait, I assumed you were responding to DANOZ28, maybe you weren't. In which case I will respond with: I could see it! They might need a top-6 player to contend.

Normally I'd said you're crazy, and that this goes against everything that BG has been doing so far, but ... he will need to convince Kap re-sign this summer, and getting some talent that is ready NOW would help him to make that happen. Also, for the first time in a long time, he will actually have the cap space to re-sign such an acquisition.

It would have to be a Fiala type player, i think. Not him, of course...that ship has sailed. A player that can compliment Boldy and Kap offensively. Barzal, if he is available, though I don't know how we'd make the cap work for this year, as his cap hit is over 9M. Something like Rossi + 1st for Barzal, though that's not the perfect trade.

If we’re talking good fits unsure if a team would be willing to move them, Troy Terry is an interesting name. 27yrs old on a team going nowhere. 2nd year of a 7yr deal at $7m per. Right shot, great skill, and decent frame/physicality.
