Let’s discuss the upcoming draft prospects!

What is the top organizational need? Does that mesh with BPA?

I will have Hensler updates coming after each Wisconsin game. I hope the Wild can somehow snag him based on what I’ve seen so far.

Fire away with your takes!

Biggest needs still RS wing and RD, I think.

I maybe recognized 4 names on the first mock draft I googled.

Currently in the "if we're looking like a playoff team at the TDL, use it to try and get Marchenko out of Columbus" state of mind. Probably will change as the season goes on.

Is it really worth discussing the draft when we're going to be drafting 32nd?

What do you mean? Just look at this list. You can't deny that this list features names of some of the hockey players of all time.

Wisconsin might not be good this year if they do not turn it around quickly. That could play a part in Hensler dropping.

He’s made some interesting mistakes for a guy that I heard/read was more of a defensive type. Whacky o zone pinches leading to odd man rushes and a little slow to move the puck in the defensive zone. I’m sure those will be corrected.

Hensler would be an amazing addition. A Carlo/Parayko type is the perfect addition to round out the blueline.

We need to make moves for a RHD for sure. Just to play devils advocate, would anyone trade Rossi in a deal, for a draft spot where we could get a guy like Hensler?

I would not. I would move futures or someone like Ohgren. But Hensler won’t be ready for a few years and we need to show 97 we mean business about contending sooner than later.

Still waiting on a few more prelim rankings to be released before putting out my first list . Don't think we will get a chance at Hensler but I think the prospect that has Wild written allllll over him is Blake Fiddler.

6-4 going to be 220lbs RD physical defenseman, which is an organizational need to compliment the young skilled core of Faber and Buium.
He captained the USA Hlinka team - and we love our captains. And our Americans.
His dad Vernon played for Hynes in New Jersey.

Plays 22 minutes with Edmonton in the WHL. Moves well for his size. Improving offensive skill and some nifty hands make him a potential top 4 dman that would reasonably be a get at around pick #20 which we will probably fall at.
