2025 NFL DRAFT Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

sounds like he'll be fine

don't foresee any kind of drastic drop. people on washington commanders forums thought they might get him. no, he's not getting past 5 lol

Reaching with a pick would be a Raiders thing to do.
Honestly, it's very quiet for this draft. No QBs to hype up. In terms of trade down/up, unless something has changed from the combine to now, the top of the draft, top 12-15, not as many first round grades as prior drafts. So, there's a cutoff.

I suspect it's a lot of writers trying to come up with something interesting.

Carroll, when he had a big voice would take certain guys, be it LJ Collier, Jordan Brooks, etc. I don't think he has that kind of power or say in LV now. All on Spytek and his scouting staff with input from Pete in terms of how he wants to run the team.

Pete is a former secondary coach, but Graham is the DC. At this stage, Pete should be more the HC than lean on the D. Let Graham run the scheme he sees fit with their personnel.

Will Johnson is the 2nd rated CB behind Hunter. He's got the size Pete likes in the Cover 3 system.

Not for every team and I'm not sure it's for the majority at this point. Major outlets like PFF have had Barron ahead for quite a while now as Johnson slowly tumbled all season. The major question with Barron is whether he can play outside. More on this in a sec.

I'm a Johnson fan, but he was just not very good this year even in the tiny stretch where he got on the field. There's significant risk. Barron was fantastic. I prefer Johnson's '23 to Barron's '24, but it's a muddy projection now.

It's also teams not loving any of these guys. Every non-QB outside of Hunter and Carter has at least one major concern. I don't think the consensus board is worth what it usually is at all because so many of those concerns are scheme or org specific.

Someone like Barron stands to benefit from the recent success after slides of guys like Branch and DeJean. And it becomes a hell of a lot easier to make that leap to taking a Slot if you flat out prefer him as a player. That could be as early as 4 in this draft. It was in the teens last year.

Pete and co did draft Witherspoon over Gonzalez. Both Pro Bowler caliber secondary guys, with Witherspoon a little shorter and is more an inside slot vs mostly outside that Gonzalez has been.

But, Seattle did use Witherspoon all over. See if Barron offers the same versatility or not.
