Ngl id probably cry during the post-fight if that happenedIf Gaethje loses, I'd bet on Poirier-Gaethje 3 with a possible double retirement.
Poirier said it's likely July or August in New Orleans. 5 month turn around is pretty standard unless it's a war and/or he gets KO'ed again. Funny enough, Geathje fought Fiziev in March 2023 and then fought Poirier late July 2023.Isn't Poirier already planning his retirement fight? I don't see a quick turnaround for Gaethje win or lose. Pretty sure they already have a plan for Poirier, could even be Topuria or Colby.
Seems very WWE, an all time worker is going out, use him to put over an up and comer or established guy still trying to increase his name.Yeah I’ve seen speculation they’re making Topuria-Poirier, that would be a hell of a retirement fight
I don't think it's about the champs being incredibly talented but more about the divisions being incredibly talented and the UFC making some of these 'boring' guys go unbeaten for like 7-10 fights before giving them a chance in some of the deeper divisions.Ppl talk about this crop of champs being boring- that only really applies to Belal and Big Ank and even then Ank has had some violent knockouts. It’s an incredibly talented, well-rounded group. Probably the most well-rounded group we’ve ever seen.
I’ve never really had issues with ESPN+ myself but i know a bunch of people have had issues with it glitching over the years, I know Luke Thomas has complained about them in the past even before the most recent ppv f***upI know the last PPV had some issues, but what other technical issues are there with ESPN? I think their UI kinda sucks, but I haven't had many issues with it. Didn't Netflix have major issues with the Tyson-Paul fight? They could be jumping from the frying pan into the fire there.
And what's this mean for PPV? Are they going to start a new PPV model on Netflix? And expect no issues? Or would it be a new subscription tier? I can't imagine everything would be available on a standard Netflix sub.
Lastly, I don't feel sorry for ESPN one bit about the PPV numbers being down. Sure, they got a bit unlucky with not having a Conor, Ronda, Nate, Masvidal, etc. during their run, but it's largely their own doing. The content requirement has watered down cards which is the biggest issue with the product.
I'm sure there's been some glitches, but I've had glitches with Netflix, too. Just last night I was watching on my laptop, it started playing, buffered, I reloaded, and then I couldn't even get the Netflix homepage to load. Wasn't my internet connection because Hulu loaded and played immediately. And that's a prerecorded show, not live sports.I’ve never really had issues with ESPN+ myself but i know a bunch of people have had issues with it glitching over the years, I know Luke Thomas has complained about them in the past even before the most recent ppv f***up
