2025 MMA General Discussion and Fight Announcements

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Fiziev will probably smoke Gaethje, I hate that rematch. Hoping I'm wrong but he doesn't have much time left in the sport and can't take another bad loss. Wish he would have held out for a more impactful matchup at this stage of his career.

Isn't Poirier already planning his retirement fight? I don't see a quick turnaround for Gaethje win or lose. Pretty sure they already have a plan for Poirier, could even be Topuria or Colby.

Yeah I’ve seen speculation they’re making Topuria-Poirier, that would be a hell of a retirement fight

Poirier said it's likely July or August in New Orleans. 5 month turn around is pretty standard unless it's a war and/or he gets KO'ed again. Funny enough, Geathje fought Fiziev in March 2023 and then fought Poirier late July 2023.

No chance on Colby for Poirier. He's said numerous times he doesn't want anything to do with Colby and he's not going to want to taint his retirement fight with bad blood and the clown show that Colby brings.

Topuria would check a lot of the boxes. It would be pretty ballsy to fight a prime aged Topuria, though. I was thinking Poirier would be angling for a similar aged legend like Gaethje, Charlie Olives, maybe Max again, and I'm sure his dream would be Nate.

Whatever it ends up being, I hope it's actually his final fight. I hate when these guys retire just to come out a year later for 1 more. Something tells me we'll see him in a boxing ring, though.

Seems very WWE, an all time worker is going out, use him to put over an up and comer or established guy still trying to increase his name.

I don't like Topuria at 155 for previously discussed reasons but I think Poirer is the best case scenario for him. Smallish 155er (former 145), top 5 ranked, should run right through him and be next in line for a title shot.

Saw an article that said Dariush let it slip they are trying to make Poirier-Max 3. Obviously not official, but Poirier-Max 3 for the BMF belt as the main event in New Orleans is more what I had in mind. Great send off for a real one like Poirier if that's what happens. Fun, action packed, either guy can reasonably win, etc.

Wow didn’t see that coming. He was getting f***ed up by Clay Collard and going life and death with Myles Price (who? Exactly) last time we saw him in MMA. I imagine Mason Jones is going to f*** him up

I wonder if it’s a one-off. I honestly thought he was perfect for BKFC

Iowa has a pretty interesting card

I know Stephens was a free agent and there was a bit of a contract dispute before his BKFC fight against Eddie but this is a weird move. I figured he'd try and cash in whether it be boxing or re-upping in BKFC. Maybe one last ufc fight in his hometown was more important to him.
