They need MAJOR pen help too.
It's weird because Matt Blake has managed to turn at least one castoff into a bullpen mainstay every season up to now. But Williams hasn't recovered from the Wild Card Game and Leiter's been mostly terrible. I guess magic has its limits.

The magic is good for the first few months when he has his reclamation project focus on their best pitch (eg, Cruz and the splitter), but they just don’t have any guys that can just throw gas. Loiasaga was that guy, but he’s still not quite right.

That Devers trade return is HORRENDOUS for Boston wtf man.
I think it's light because the Giants took on the entire contract

But yeah, it lacks a high upside player in my opinion.

It's funny because about a week ago buster gave an interview with Tim kawakami talking about how he loved that sabean went for it and traded Wheeler for Beltran even though it went south.

And now here we are

So just after sweeping the Yankees (where the hell have their bats gone?!), the Red Sox traded away Rafael Devers, who they famously signed to a big contract instead of Mookie Betts. I'm fairly sure that trade cursed them again. If history rhymes, I'm not going to live to see the 26 Dodger championships that they're going to win over the course of this century, but maybe I'll get word in whatever afterlife I'm in.

Yankees need help with their offense, a couple guys were hot early on but have gone cold, even A Judge looked bad up there in Boston, hit that one homer in the ninth but struck out 8 or 9 times (maybe more?) what a pathetic series that was

The lineup is a mess. Take Judge out and they may be hitting 240 as a group.

Remember when Aaron Judge was hitting 400...

I don’t like this era of moneyball. I’m not convinced the only thing that matters is slugging percentage and thr on base percentage is only a thing for true sluggers who get a lot of meaningless walks that don’t tax the pitcher and guys who can actually hit for average and have good eyes but who don’t have much value in today’s game.

I havent watched baseball in years, but as a Yankee "fan" I started watching again last year during the world series and wasnt impressed (still spoiled from the 90"s teams) but this years team is nothing special, I can hardly watch an entire game

I’ll watch a bit here and there. I agree those Jeter Posada teams were great. They worked thr count and moved guys along and didn’t wilt when it got tougher. Now guys just swing for the fences and it’s barely a team sport anymore to my eyes.

The last baseball season I paid daily attention to was 2015 when KC beat the Mets. The Royals played a sound, fundamental game which didn't rely solely on the longball. The game now absolutely sucks ass and is unwatchable.

It's the MLB 2Kxx effect.

BREAKING NEWS: 6/18/25 The New York Yankees have scored a run, Jazz Chisholm has connected on a home run, more at 11
they are still looking for their first lead in 50 innings! (can't believe that)
EDIT, HELL HAS FROZEN OVER, at 8:11 EST, Cody Bellinger hit a solo shot to give the Yankees a one run lead for the first time in 51 innings, nearly a week without leading a game...
EDIT/EDIT: The Skanks lose again, an error by Volpe on an easy DP ball cost them a run, then he struck out to end the game, LOSER
