A fan was removed from the field on a cart after falling from the 21-foot Clemente Wall in right field at PNC Park during Wednesday night's Cubs-Pirates game.

No way Aaron Judge keeps his average up above .400, right? I'll have to see another month of this before I believe he can finish the season at that rate.

The fact that he’s over .400 1/4 through the season and leading the league in homers is mind boggling. That damn cement at dodger stadium robbed him of another ethereal season in ‘23.

Losing Cole put a cap on their World Series chances, but unfortunately that's just starting pitching these days. The human body isn't meant to take that kind of punishment.

The contemporary examples woukd be George Brett and Tony Gwynn who both fell short. Brett gave an interview once where he discussed what he thought was necessary to give a batter the best chance at a .400 season . One item was trying to limit the number of at bats. His thinking was you want to be as close to 500 at bats as possible. I cannot recall the details but I imagine limiting fatigue has something to do with it.

The second worst team in the league (I already forgot who it was, just peeped the standings a couple hours ago) has 17 wins to their 9 lol.

The Rockies have to be the biggest loser, poverty franchise in the league.

The Rockies are likely going to be the very worst team of the modern era, and by a wide margin. They’re so bad, their record up to now is comparable to some of the worst teams of the pre-modern era. It’s all Dick Monfort’s fault- he strives for mediocrity at best. The turning point was when they pissed off Nolan Arenado and traded him to the Cardinals for pieces that ended up being nothing. They have one person in their analytics department. Their farm system is rated in the bottom third of organizations. They won’t even qualify for a top ten pick in next year’s draft.

Most damning 2025 Rockies stat i’ve come across: if they had a player with the average wRC+ of Dontrelle Willis playing every position, they’d be better. Willis was a starting pitcher.

Coors Field is a great place to watch a game and it’s called “the best bar in Denver.” Even then, they’ve had a perceptible drop in attendance. I’m sure their series against the Yankees was the best their attendance has been all season, in the same way that the nomadic Athletics only got their first Sacramento sell-outs when they came along. I hope it keeps up. The worst part about MLB owners is that he’s not even the worst one in the sport.

No Luke Weaver closing for the Yankees for 4-6 weeks.... The bullpen feels weirdly vulnerable this year. The stats probably don't agree with the vibes, but that's just what it feels like.

Speaking of bad vibes, the Red Sox are coming to town this weekend. Devers is raking but unhappy, Crochet is dealing but he's the only one doing that in the rotation, Bregman was doing very well but got hurt, their fielding sucks, their bullpen sucks, and they've lost 18 one-run games so far. I feel like they cursed themselves again by trading Mookie Betts to the Dodgers. Even if that means LA is the beneficiary this century and not the Yankees, I'm still laughing at the poetry.

That was a big weekend for the Mets. Gained 3 games on the Phillies as they got swept by Pit. The Braves are a cluster too, which is refreshing.

Gotta hope the Cubs and Jays pile it on the Phillies this week!

I've been watching their games this year for the first time in YEARS, and I don't know how they're in first place? Their wins always seem to be from the other team "messing up". I agree they need a real good veteran starter and some "less lame" infielder(s)

The Pirates are already looking into trading Paul Skenes. Cashman should hit up their phone until it explodes. And if they're not actually going to trade him, get one of their other pitchers. Their rotation is great, they just can't hit and can't develop hitters, and their owner sucks.
