2025 MLB Regular Season Thread: the Baseballening

Sorry, I don't follow baseball much, is that record for the Rockies a misprint?

I've certainly been lax in recent years in following baseball, but the Rockies are kind of a joke - this is a team that spend a decade thinking Charlie Blackmon was a star.

Looking at them, yeah, they're real awful.
I mean like I knew they were a joke but JEEZ

Juan Soto was hit by pitches twice in one inning. Someone’s gotta be looking that up.

From Wikipedia (unfortunately no citations): Brady Anderson was the first player to be hit by a pitch two times in the same inning in an American League game. On April 25, 2014, Brandon Moss became the second when he was hit twice in the top of the 9th inning by Houston Astros pitchers. Six players have been hit by a pitch twice in the same inning in the National League.

Hoping Kyle Gibson was going to save your rotation problems....lol.

3.2 11H 9ER 5HR 2BB 2K. 22.09 ERA

As a Pirates fan I can't fathom how a team can be that bad.

The Pirates have no coaches worthy of coaching a Little League team, no competent people in management, and about 4 Major League caliber players...and would win 3/4 games against the Rockies over however many games you want to play. A broken clock is right twice a day. The Rockies...they just removed the hands entirely.

I'm not going to say Manfort is worse than Nutting or Fisher, but I am going to say they all deserve to be tied to a rocket loaded with dynamite and shrapnel that is just set on fire...or something much slower and even more painful. That there is an entire class of owner in this league that just utterly ruins the sport for markets for generations is a goddamned disgrace and makes me hate this f***ing sport.

Yikes…Pirate fan likely dies after seemingly jumping over the fence. Sad but not sure what they were thinking….

Yeeesh… the footage is pretty bad, I think we should refrain from posting it here. Even from a distance and grainy, it looked pretty damn bad.

Can only hope he can recover and didn’t suffer permanent damage or worse.
