Bring all grinders and goal generation becomes a problem.
Probably shouldn’t have let Peters and Rivet be in charge of player selection

I haven’t watched as much Canada because we don’t have anyone on the team. But what I’ve seen is a very undisciplined team who don’t play together at all. Weird to lack talent but also play like individuals. They don’t seem well suited for any kind of game at this point. Except defending at 5 on 5. Which I guess they’re doin great. Good for them.

Big something something strong something something
It’s a different tournament with a ton more talent on top of the lineup…but if the US bombs the Four Nations it will be for the same reasons. Leave Tage and Caulfield at home for Brock Nelson and Drury picking his own players (one of whom was a healthy scratch recently btw) instead of the best players was a choice. When I think first best on best tournament in years I think Kreider and Trochek.

They already have to overcome Brady Tkachuk playing in a big game setting.

Cole Hutson is a nice prospect for a second round pick.
bought with a Sabres draft pick for Malenstyn, correct ?

Does Wahlberg have the offensive upside he's hinting at in this tourney?

What's his ceiling - Jordan Staal lite maybe?
I read Killorn or Wood are good comparisons. Pronman's compare was Pierre Engvall.

Canada is going to finish third in their group.
Czechs with a chance to boot them in the quarters for the 2nd year in a row. Don't think that will happen, but the whimpering and moaning in the WJC threads after losing like that on home ice would be legendary.

No offense to my friends to the north, but the number of Canadian fans that were cheering on Finland against USA on Sunday I'm now on team whomever VS. Canada.

As I mentioned in the GDT, if the USA was playing Hades, Canadian fans would show up in droves clad in full Satanic regalia.

When it comes to the WJC, it's the USA and then anybody but Canada for me. I find Canadian hockey chauvinism obnoxious.

It's been that way for a long, long time. They will root for whoever is playing the US.
Dave Reid just compared Wahlberg to Mike Bossy. Ya, think I'm giving that comparable the amount of attention it deserves.

Maybe thinking that he’s around the net and uses his back hand? Beyond that… And the fact that they’re human beings.

We’re Canadians. Why the hell would we ever cheer for the US? That’s like the mice cheering for the cat to catch the bird.

Years ago, while attending a round robin game in Buffalo, the people behind us were all bedecked in their red Maple leaf apparel and we’re saying some really shitty things. Thankfully, my seven-year-old son didn’t hear them. Ironically, during the Canada Slovak game that we attended prior to USA Sweden he turned around and told them that he was rooting for Canada because they were our friends. The entire drunken lot of them wound up humbled. It was glorious.

My sons were called "f***ing Americans" once too often by opponents, coaches, and parents while playing in Canadian tournaments. I love seeing Canada get crushed.
