No idea how 70 guys got picked before the USA 18's Captain who was lined up to play key minutes at Minnesota and WJC as an 18 year old. No take backsies.

February birthday too, he'll be main piece in 2026 when the Leonard, Perreault, Moore gang graduates.
Next WJC will be his coming out party to the world IMO. Top line minutes as a captain

He's still been pretty productive, no? What's the scouting report on him?

Productive perhaps out of overuse. He's pulling down over 23.5 minutes a game in TOI. I can see a good 2nd pairing guy who is more of a stopper than an offensive player - still think a right handed McCabe is sort of similar in both the physical play, flashes of offense, and occasional braindeadness.

I guess a similarly offensively but worse defensively Willander?

I didnt follow the roster selection process

What was the issues in how roster was selected for Canada?

Legit penalty against Canada?
They reviewed for 5
It was a knee trip

Earlier before they tied they also disallowed a canadian goal when D and F crashed the net before puck went in I think around 8-10 left in the game. Canada challenged, got a penalty

Yes and no.

In the 1st there was what looked to be a knee-on-knee collision, and Nadeau got 5 and a match penalty. There was some soccer-style fakery from the Czech player, who didn't miss a shift. Some didn't even think it was a penalty.

Canadian defenseman Gibson decided to make exactly the same hit with a little over 2 minutes left in the game. Just a dumb play considering the foregoing.

Czechs scored the PP winner with 40 seconds left.

Officiating and calls in the Canada game seemed pretty typical. I don't think there was bias one way to the other in sum, and both teams benefited from situational officiating - which is an issue in hockey in general. This tends to be a bigger problem in tournament/elimination formats.
