Think the rotation is pretty set.

I'd be really happy if they moved out Yoshida in a package for Arenado or in a separate deal for RP or prospects.

Duran - LF
Bregman/Arenado - 3B
Devers - DH
Casas - 1B
Abreu - RF
Story - SS
Wong - C
Rafaela - CF
Campbell/???? - 2B

or

They sign Bregman and Santander and use Rafaela at SS and Story at 2B

Duran - CF
Bregman/Arenado - 3B
Devers - DH
Santander - LF
Casas - 1B
Abreu - RF
Story - 2B
Wong - C
Rafaela - SS

Greedy -- sure --- but it's the off season -- aim high!

Nobody is ever touching that stolen base record. Even with the changes to the game to make it friendlier to stealing, Rickey being good + being good at it for so long puts that number essentially into the Gretzky pantheon of "records that no one has a remote hope of touching"

To put it into perspective, Ronald Acuna has been probably the most recognizable for his exploits on the base paths in the last couple years, with him stealing 73 last year and having 196 in his career already.

Let's just say, for instance sake, Acuna reveals himself to be the best base stealer of his generation and makes stealing 73 a year look routine. With essentially 200 already in the bank, basic napkin math tells me it would take him approximately 17 seasons to pass Rickey's mark of 1406 at that type of clip with absolutely zero room for letting up and would have to play 24 seasons in total to get there. No chance when the concept of athletic decline exists.

Legit to me one of the inner circle greatest of all time type players.
Everyone thought Gretzky's record of most goal scored would never be beaten.
Anything is possible.

There's a bunch of MLB records that aren't ever going to be broken, Ricky's Career SB total, and his single season SB total are two of them. Sure anything can happen, but it ain't gonna happen in my lifetime.....

Here's a couple off the top of my head:

Ricky Henderson: Career SB, and Single Season SB
Nolan Ryan: Career Strikeouts. Career Walks, too.
Cy Young: Career wins. In fact, I don't think we'll ever see another 300 game winner, let alone 511.
Hank Aaron: Career Total Bases
Cal Ripken: Consecutive Games Played

I agree -- except for one MLB record -- triples.

Record is 309

Active leader has -- 68

There is only one player under 30 on the active top 10 list and he's 28-year-old Amed Rosario with 46.

Duran has 21 @ 27 years old.

If he hits 21 triples per season (which is his current career total) he'd need to play until he was 40 to break the record.

Ripken's is absolutely untouchable too. The active leader is Matt Olson and he still needs to play 12 1/2 more seasons without missing a single game along the way.

Yeah, probably.

I was in Camden Yards when he broke and tied the streak.

Best athletic event I’ve ever attended….by far.

What do you mean by this?

They certainly aren't signing Burnes now

As long as they didn’t bring him in as their main signing or trade, I was happy with the thought of adding him. If they had signed him and done something like bring back Pivetta I’d be BS but as the secondary move to Crochet it’s solid

Red Sox did the right thing for the wrong reason in acquiring pitching, They are still cheap and still need a reliver and a right handed bat, but I am somewhat pleased fwiw.
Its risky, but I think they expect one of Vaughn Grissom or Kristian Campbell to take over second base next season. I don't think they are ready to commit to Bregman unless it was for 3rd which honestly means moving Yoshida, and Devers needs to DH. I want nothing to do with Devers at 1st base. The only issue is how to move Yoshida. Might be easier to fit in Toescar.

They're so f***ing cheap.

This is the type of deal you make when you won't spend real money but don't want anyone to say you didn't do anything.

Whatever. I don't care. Maybe he'll be good. Maybe he'll be bad. Most likely he'll be fine.

Feels to me like Cora is still pushing hard for Bregman and currently labels him as 2B to not escalate the Devers-situation.

One year at second - moves back 3B in 26

Yoshida gone
Devers DH
Campbell 2B

Let’s go Craig
