As a starter

40% of your starting rotation is Frankie Montas and Clay Holmes. We love our ex Yankees. They made Manaea and Severino a load of money. Stearns treating starters like running backs
Holmes can pitch in NY already so that issue eliminated

How messed up is your life when you'd rather take less money to voluntarily live in Cleveland
Comfort thing i imagine. He's coming off significant surgery so i can see the calculation of what you know being better than what you don't as he considers to work back to the lineup.

The player option is evidence of this too. If he can bounce back even with the knowledge of it not being a full 2025 season under his belt, he'll absolutely go to market

Also it’s not like Cleveland is a losing org, they were pretty close to a World Series bid this year. They’re the ones who drafted, developed, and rehabbed him so I get why they’d have the sentimental advantage
Loyalty, comfort ability - contrary to what some sports fans think humans don’t always go for bank.

Apparently they wanted him enough to offer him more money. Maybe you will still get Manaea for Christmas.
I’m hoping for the Baptism scene in the God Father where Michael takes out the other families

In this case it would be : Yankees (Soto), Blue Jays (trade for Guerrero), Orioles (Burnes), and Tampa (trade for Eflin)

Ok I’m getting carried away with Burnes

May as well go big.....tis the season!

Mets not in on Burnes or Fried. Maybe it changes if they don’t get Soto. They are looking at Manaea, Buehler and Scott now.
I honestly don't blame them. High priced pitching is always riskier than top hitters.

This analyst on mlb yesterday said the Mets are getting out of the big tine money 5-7 years for pitching because so volatile and do the mid guys like Severino, Manaea, Quintana etc

Smart

A little surprised Adames would sign before Soto makes up his mind since he was considered to be a Plan B option for several teams involved in the Soto Sweepstakes.

That is going to stress out some teams....backup plans eroding!
