2025 Draft

Might as well pre-order your Malcolm Spence jerseys.

I have no idea who this is yet because I haven’t had time to look at this draft.

But if it’s a two-way, left handed LW with maybe a bit of size that screams Calgary pick baby.

Might as well start stitching the name on jerseys now.

I haven't had the chance to watch him play yet but here's some of the scouting reports on him:

Hannah Stuart - Bleacher Report - July 9th: "He has an inviting combination of physicality and scoring talent; he's very effective offensively and thinks the game at top speeds, even though he isn't the more creative, dynamic forward type."

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - July 3rd: "He gets in the way of just about everyone, has some of the best chirps in the class and then will make you pay with a nice goal. As one of the older players in this draft class, Spence had a 62-point sophomore campaign this season while donning an “A” with Erie."

Chris Peters - Flo Hockey - June 29th: "A big winger who has some jam to him, Spence is an aggressive player who can be physical and still score. He doesn’t have dynamic skill, but he is effective with the puck on his stick."

Scott Wheeler - The Athletic - March 18th: "He plays the game with intention, sticks with plays, and has decent though not dynamic skill. He plays with pace on and off the puck, keeps his feet moving, gets up and under sticks to win back possession, and is by all accounts an awesome kid."

He's currently projected anywhere from 8-16 with most of the projections in the 8-11 range.
