I usually don't like trading down in the 1st round, but looks like the 15th overall will miss the really good prospects.

Although knowing this management, chances are the 1st is traded for immediate help

I’m going to need to start compiling my draft lists. Annoying that the two draft simulators are currently broken; DraftPro hasn’t updated to use 2025 rankings and FCHockey doesn’t have the correct draft order.

would love to have Bear. He has the least flaws out of everyone in the tier 3 region of prospects and by far the highest offensive upside.

Bear
Martin

I'd rather take an elite winger or even defenseman rather than reaching for a center...you might get Jackson Smith or Aitcheson for D, or Carbonneau or Lakovic on the wing (maybe even Eklund). Big time upside with all those players.

As much as I love Reschny I'm not sure I'd take him at 15. Incredibly smart and involved but lacks the separating skill right now to project with confidence that he'll be a top scorer as a smaller guy. I'd consider him though because there is real upside there with how quickly he thinks the game. Certainly not Kindel or Cootes.

As I saw an internet analyst post today, this draft is a draft for need type of draft for most teams outside the top 3.

Half the posts in here are bitching about the team trading the pick. I'm here to see who's tracking between 10 and 20. I don't watch as much junior hockey as I once did. The Eeyores need to stomp their hooves in every..... f***ing....:.thread.

The Canucks could trade their first, second and even third round draft pick, and it wouldn't even marginally change how they do next season.

There simply isn't a 'game-changing forward' available either as a UFA or a trade candidate. Those types of forwards--particularly centers--aren't on the block no matter how many draft picks you're willing to trade.

The Canucks would never risk 'losing Quinn Hughes for nothing'. And it's unlikely even winning the draft lottery would mean acquiring a player of his caliber.

It he isn't re-upped by June of next season, then he's on the block. And the Canucks would expect to reap quite a haul in the trade market.

15. Vancouver Canucks: Lynden Lakovic, LW, Moose Jaw Warriors​

One of the biggest forwards in the draft, Vancouver could stand to add some bulk up front. Lakovic also happens to have enough skill to make a good number of plays and provide some power forward elements. I just don't think the Canucks have a lot like him in their system, so he would add some variety.
