There's a cool pocket of 8 through 13 that would just make most years' top 10, so 12 is a good spot. Hagens is pretty much a lock to be gone before 8.Maybe it's just that everyone is discussing every other possibility that could be taken throughout the top 10ish, but I don't feel like I've seen Hagens' name pop up much. Is he basically a lock to be gone well before NYR's pick?
If your SJ, you also know Islanders need to grab offensive talent. The problem happens when Islanders trade down to 3, then SJ will sweat. I think right now Islanders will be asking for way too much to move down to 2.The only way Hagens drops to 12 is if he has interviews worse that Shadeur Sanders'.
He's not dropping past Nashville.
Hot take time. The Islanders should be holding Mike Grier over a barrel to trade up for Schaefer. No disrespect to Sam Dickenson, but all SJ is missing is that stud defenseman and they're off to the races. I just don't know what Misa or Hagens does for them. As is, I would just take Martone at 2 if they don't pony up a nice piece to move up and get Schaefer.
The Islanders need offensive talent. Misa or Hagens would look good there. I think this could make for a pretty unpredictable draft day.
They should ask for Dickenson and the #2.If your SJ, you also know Islanders need to grab offensive talent. The problem happens when Islanders trade down to 3, then SJ will sweat. I think right now Islanders will be asking for way too much to move down to 2.
Cullen Potter is the guy we need to take
Wouldn’t be my target either. We don’t need another LW especially one that’s under sized. But holy shit Potter is electric! Maybe the fastest skater in the draft, edges, agility and the offensive skill is top shelf. Played NCAA as a 17yo freshman I believe. He’s probably a top 15 pick.Maybe if we add another 1st somehow. We shouldn't be picking with our 1st this year, and if we are, Potter definitely isnt a guy I'd be targeting at 12
