GDT: 2025 Draft Lottery: We Got Hosed, Billy

LOL at the people who support tanking. Lose 2 more games! Hop up and down on one foot while patting your head and rubbing your stomach counter clockwise!

One nice thing about finally becoming a playoff team is we won't have to rely on the s**ttiest commissioner in professional sports and the s**ttiest group of owners and their dumb f**king lottery. It's going to feel great when we finally win again and can tell everyone associated with the lottery where they can stick it, I look forward to never having to deal with this s**t again for a very, very long time.

Sorry guys, this is all my fault! I was rubbing my stomach clockwise!

Serious though, did anyone really expect us to not get screwed? Stevie said everything was on the table, so maybe we're willing to part ways with the first in a package deal for something that makes us better now.

Of course they did. Yzerman just does not get it. Continually screwed over by the league with this BS but refuses to play the game. Hey boys let’s win 5 out of our last 8 a *uck ourselves real good. I’m sick of this BS. At some point in your rebuild you have to be smart but Yzerman and the Red Wings don’t get it.
Yeah man, screw Yzerman for not using his telekinesis to influence the ping pong balls. Its clearly his fault we fell a spot. If he would just "play the game" the Wings would get so much more lottery luck. What an idiot, he just doesn't get it. You should write a memo to Yzerman and tell him he needs to be smart to rebuild with detailed instructions on how to be smart.

This may be news to you, but Yzerman has more NHL General Managing ability in his pinky toe than any single member of this forum has overall.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but in a reality that is different enough to where the Wings lose two more games, it is almost certain that the ping pong balls fall differently than they did tonight. Its not like if the Wings lost two more games the ping pong balls would have been drawn the exact same, that isn't how things work.

In and of itself, I'm not really even that annoyed at dropping a spot. The annoying part is that it happens every damn time.

Pretty f***ing lame.

Just trade the pick at this point. Get a player that makes the team better today.

How about our 1st rounder and Holl to Chicago for Veleno?

:naughty:

We’re so irrelevant, NHL forgot to even include us in the final draft order lol.

So yah looks like winning the games at the end of the season really helped. If we had lost 3 more games we would have the top pick.

Ah well I would definitely trade this pick for immediate help. I'm tired of losing.

Win two more games and we are drafting #4.

Doesn't feel like we are meant to win the lottery. We even did our big losing in the worst period to do it in terms of the rules.

13. Detroit Red Wings: Victor Eklund, RW, Djurgården (SWEDEN-2)

In a perfect world, I think the Red Wings would add a forward with a bit more size here, but Eklund’s talent is just too much to pass up, with his speed and shot bringing potentially difference-making elements to a system that needs more pop. Physical LHD Kashawn Aitcheson was a strong consideration here as well, but ultimately, Eklund’s motor and offensive ability make him the pick. — Max Bultman
