Prospect Info: 2025 DRAFT Discussion

All of these protected contracts give the option to the team who is giving up the pick because the protection clause was designed by them for their benefit..it doesn’t make any sense why NYR would tie their own hands but not giving them the option to give up the protected pick if they so choose
I tend to agree — What contract would not have this option lol

I wonder what type of paperwork is associated with these trades.

Rangers finish top 13 the pick moves to 2026. Out of the top 13, Pens get the pick. Pick is protected for top 13. Dubas made a good deal with this trade. Pickering up next year helps the LD. Stuck with Graves but cap going up his hit is not a financial bomb. third pairing LD is not what he was signed for. But that is what he looks to be. Pens get a RW at 14 or say Martin who can play center is fine with me.

That Jesse write-up is the same impression I got from reading other scouting reports on Eklund, my only concern is whether his pretty small frame (5'11" and 162 lbs) can let him effectively play that style in the NHL. Kunitz wasn't all that big either, he was only 6'0" and 188 lbs, but Eklund needs to add another 25 lbs to just get to that size.

I think he has similar upside to Guentzel, I would be really happy to get him with their 1st. He seems like the exact kind of winger that would mesh phenomenally well with Crosby, but I doubt he'll even be in the NHL before Crosby retires.

Don't worry, we're not catching any of the bottom 6 teams lol.

Yeah, unfortunately I think we’re trending 7-8…they just keep trying to win…it makes zero sense lol…Dubas should order Sullivan to bench Sid and Rakell
