We need to do whatever the heck the flyers did that they have 7 picks in the first two rounds this year
who is going to be available in the second that we are going to miss out on that would make it a failure?the fact that we still don't own a second-round pick in 2025 leading up to the trade deadline is a failure for management IMHO.
They traded a great player to the Ducks for a second round pick. So that is one pick they got this coming draft. We need to do whatever the heck the flyers did that they have 7 picks in the first two rounds this year
Not really my point. My point is we have not done enough to ship out players for picks. Teams trade second-round picks all the time. When you are in the position we are in, not having a second-rounder this year is not good.who is going to be available in the second that we are going to miss out on that would make it a failure?
McQueen dropping out of the top 10 as indicated in this article would be interesting provided the Pens have the Rags' pick this year. Martone/Frondell + McQueen in the same draft would be a haul.![]()

Four months out from the 2025 NHL Draft, Sam Cosentino provides his latest ranking of the top 32 prospects from this year's class.www.sportsnet.ca
We have better than that, we have two 1sts. Also, we aren't exactly brimming with roster players worth 2nd round picks that we're willing to trade once you take Karlsson and Rakell off the table. Who do you suggest? Not really my point. My point is we have not done enough to ship out players for picks. Teams trade second-round picks all the time. When you are in the position we are in, not having a second-rounder this year is not good.
That does NOT mean you trade Karlsson or Rakell for a second in 2025, obviously.
thanks jake....I know a few posters here that are familiar with Mans Goos but I don’t want to out them.
At 6'5" that's quite the load to handle back there.
So basically we're looking at Frondell, Martone or Mrtka. I'll tell you right now, if we get Martone, the juice he brings will help in changing our identity. We need some oomph and he provides that. And if NYR decides to give us their pick or McQueen drops to the point where we do end up with NYR's pick...that's some BEEF coming in![]()

HP put out a new list last week. I think these guys are best public draft material there is.
I can see several GMs drooling. Think there's any chance he sneaks into the top 5?At 6'5" that's quite the load to handle back there.
Not necessarily. List will change some before final version. Also McKenzie poll is a better indicator of who will be available in what range. So basically we're looking at Frondell, Martone or Mrtka.
