We need to keep going and get into the top 2…just keep Sullivan here and keep playing EK and we’ll get there lol
Now this is the collective attitude we all NEED to have. Lose baby lose and get the best draft pick we can! Preferably a center all things being equal.

Theres a lottery for picks #1-3. Thats the only way to move up spots. If you placed between #4-14, its possible you move back up to 2 spots since a team or two behind you could win the lottery and jump you. Right now the Pens are 4th last so they can pick anywhere from #1-#6

Right!!! I could not find the info that says there's no way you can move up unless you won the lottery. I thought maybe the last 11 spots could be a reshuffling of sorts.

At least we have our 1st round pick this year. Giving up last years might have been one of the best things that Dubas ends up doing.

The Pens are third last now. Hagens here we come! A Hagens, McKenna, Dupont core is gonna hit like crack
I didn't realize we were bottom 3 in the league

I figured we were in about the 20-25th range.

Sid and Geno ain't gonna wanna hear this but a top 3 pick this year and the 1ov next year would be the best overall thing for the franchise, period. Adding Misa, McQueen, or Martone this year and then getting McKenna next would be the legitimate transition period that the organization is hoping for. Just enough time for Sid to pass the torch.

Rolling into the future with McGroarty-McKenna-Misa/McQueen/Martone with Pickering and Brunicke on the back end with Blomqvist/Murashov in net is not the worst foundation.

The excitement of getting lottery picks is heavily dampened by Sullivan coaching them. Imagine getting a power forward like Martone and him becoming a 30 point PK "specialist" by age 23

In my Penguins future fan fiction, I have them firing Sullivan the day after they announce the Penguins have won the 2026 draft lottery.

In an alternate reality, they keep Sullivan on board to keep finishing 32nd OV until they get that allusive franchise player.

I would not get your hopes up. We are not going to get the ultimate prize a third time, which does not even include the Scotty Bowman shrewd Jagr acquisition when most teams would not have pulled that trigger. And it also does not include Chicago falling to third in the lottery, which allowed us to land Malkin.

There are a lot of quality center prospects this year, so there is hope regardless of the reality check.

I don't like the fact we don't have a 2nd this draft. We have three 3rd round picks tho. But plenty if time left, Pettersson should return at least a 2nd. Would be nice to have 2 pick in the first 2 rounds imo.

Eller could return a 2nd as well, players like that at the deadline with him having just 1yr left is easier for them to take on at his age.

I could see a team being fine giving up a 2nd for him. I mean the Avs literally gave up a 2025 2nd for Eller in 2023. Eller wasn't even playing as well as he has been for the Penguins when he was dealt that year, so I think he could fetch a 2nd if he continues to play like last season.

Pettersson to me should fetch two 2nd round picks.

Even worse that the 2nd will be in the 30s. Would be nice to have #3 and #35

Honestly if Beau can sort his shit out a little bit I could see some team throwing a pick at the Pens to get him. Probably a 3rd at most but he's been solid in the playoffs, 31pts in 55 games isn't terrible for a depth guy.

I don't think there's anybody on the roster the Pens are likely to get substantial value for but Petts, Eller and Beau at the TDL, Rust and EK in the off-season might bring back a buncha picks and anything outside of the top-15 or so, I think the more the merrier as far as number of picks go.

It's been such a long time since I've payed attention to prospective draft picks, not sure where the most comprehensive scouting reports, or rankings are from anymore.

Not sure this is good for my health haha
