Id rather use our first to acquire first line player, ether play with Larkin or Seider. My comment was about draft general, draft guys like Plante and Cleveland
No way in hell I'm trading our 1st unless its top 10 protected. Still think we can be in the top 7 and If we were smart we'd try going downwards and get a high pick that will be a big piece of the future and regroup in the off season and come back strong next year

Likely wont happen at least closer to deadline. Just checked standings and theres way too many teams in the mix to leapfrog. Think also mtl adding laine and hutson will get them in.

Cant see us having a shot. We had our nice 7 game run but we'll what happens

Plante and cleveland ??? Americans ??? I'm always weary of Americans cause they can run off in 4 years

Josi for first +
Ugh ya no . Love josi but hes 34 and were nowhere near a contender even with him. Then hes 37 and declining and we gave up a high pick ++

I'm not saying I'd do it but I saw someone make a post about trading for Dobson.. dont even think hes available but I thought about it and hes the only guy I'd consider moving asp in a deal

prior to this year back to back 50 pts 70 year before , 6'4 right shot and only 25 . That's a guy you can lock up 8 years and have all his best years. Make another trade for hague

Edvinsson seider
Hague dobson

All jokes aside I love asp and what he could be and be hard pressed to move him but if we could have Dobson locked up x8 around seider number it be really hard to say no

Because he's 34, he could be available, but I doubt it. At 37 he will still be very good, most importantly he could be a model for our young d core

At this point we likely pick something like 6-10. That’s Frondell/Desnoyers territory but I’d personally prefer Jake O’Brien at this point. Our lack of playmakers is a huge weakness in our lineup that will only get worse with Kane’s departure. O’Brien could be a boon for us there if he reaches top 6 territory. Could be deployed at center or wing, is a righty, has the potential to be big if nothing stops him from putting on weight, and he’s putting up points at 17.5 years of age. Really a lot to like.

I dont want to give up the costly price it'll take to get him for someone who wont be a big factor when we're cup contenders. Preds wont just give him away and like I said were gonna sink down the standings and our pick will be a good one imo

Wont just be that theyll demand a top prospect and another good player as well. Josi is good but hed be better off going to a Colorado or edmonton etc.. not a team thats still 2 yrs likely from a playoff spot let alone a cup contender

If we want a mentor get rid of holl, petry and chiarot and bring in alec martinez for a year. Cant have too many old guys on d

Absolutely bonkers idea to give up a top 10 pick+ for a guy who starts next season at age 35. We’d be the laughing stock of the league if we made that trade. Josi is already slowing down, 20 points off last years pace and is -19. There’s a reason the CBA treats 35+ players as a special case - cause most fall off a cliff at that age. There is zero guarantee he’s still good at 37, and we might not even be contenders at that point still. Not to mention how much more injury prone players get in those 35+ years.

No need for a defenseman with Seider, edvinsson, ASP and now likely buium projecting as a 4D guy. and no need for a smaller offensive forwards when we have a ton of them in raymond, buchnelikov, Lombardi etc. Just like the past 3 seasons, get yourself a skilled but hard to play against forward. In the 5-10 range there’s plenty of guys I’d be okay with taking. Jake O’brian personally just screams red wing to me. Desoyners would be great too, I’d be okay with frondell but not super thrilled. McQueen has so many question marks but I don’t think he’s a Rasmussen clone so I wouldn’t outright hate it. Obviously if we win the lottery you take schaefer. If we get the 2nd pick I’d take Misa personally.

McQueen isnt a Rasmussen clone, but this board has PTSD from Ras so they see anyone thats big and they assume he cant skate and isnt skilled. A lot of people on this board wouldnt draft Lemieux after watching Ras come up.

Mckenzies list seems to say that after the 8ish range the draft drops off, and then another noticeable drop somewhere in the 15-20 range. If no playoffs, you want to be in the top 8. I know everyone is discussing forwards, but Jackson Smith seems like a wings pick to me too
